These are gorgeous. I have used scallop shells to make hanging chimes with beads etc to hang on a porch or any kind of outdoor entertainment space. It's a lot of fun to make these.

These are so clever and beautiful. I'm not that close to a beach in the UK (located pretty central) but often collect Duck Mussel shells from around a small lake when I walk the dogs. They're quite delicate but have the most gorgeous mother of pearl insides. I know they're not quite as sturdy as the beauties you use but your video has certainly inspired me to consider their future potential 😃 Thank you!!

That’s wonderful! I never heard of “Duck Mussel shells” so I googled them and they look quite similar to the ones I used for the necklace locket, did you get that far in the video? Those are quite light and thin as well but SO beautiful on the inside! Nature is amazing ❤️Anyway, so glad the video was inspiring, that made my day. Have fun with your shells!

I did see the pocket necklace but that shell's a fair bit smaller so I'm not sure whether duck mussels are different in the UK? There are also Swan mussels which are similar to the duck mussels but bigger. I have photos but frustratingly can't post them here to show you 😄 thanks for replying anyway 👍😊

I love your beach!! I live in Georgia in the USA on the east coast but its sooo hard to find shells like yours on our beaches! Way too much sand & people around to find usable shells or sea glass! I got the ship a few years ago, in a thrift store. It was in a small bottle so I broke the bottle to get the ship out. I used it in a story with the Gnome. And the tiny bottle I got at a dollar store! I was shocked to find them there (they come in a package of 6 or more) but you can also get them on amazon, however, the dollar store is cheaper so look there first if you have a local dollar store.

I usually never do either! I was walking the beach as the tide was going down so I think that helped a lot to find them intact before the returning tide smashed them up
