I’m late to have come across this review, and thank you very much for the comprehensive summary. What I found amusing in a nice way was the fun and in some cases the difficulty you had in finding my initials. There is an irony in that, namely that I have been plagued over the years by another reviewer who has taken a dislike to my work and delights in critiquing my inclusion those initials. She claims they are such an obvious and distracting ego trip on my part, and to emphasis her opinion she posts images and highlights their location. I have to wonder that if they are as distracting and obvious as she claims, why they needed to be highlighted. But anyway, they were as you noted, primarily a means of authenticity and little fun, nothing more…

I think I have a spell Bead that looks exactly like the one on your bracelet! I had mine bonded to me from WhiteFoxCoven…I have that color and like a green I got from Etsy. I am looking at which of these versions of the deck I want to get…the Easy Tarot or another…glad to see this comparison video! So beautiful…I’ll be happy with any I’m sure! I am actually trying to decide which of Ciro’s decks I want the most. I just look at the pictures all the time lol…haven’t bought one yet!

It’s not dirty. They actually were originally gilded when first made and a much better card stock. So the first kit you got was actually gilded in gold. Which they stopped because people complained about the golf edges chipping off. Then, Llewellyn I believe bought it out mass market, and it became a collaboration with the East Tarot. So yes definitely a difference, and the edges although worn in- are actually gold. Not dirty. KEEP THAT FIRST DECK!!!! They’re impossible to find today. And Mr. Marchetti I believe is done making decks. He was extremely upset by the amount of fake decks being produced. And he refuses to make anymore decks. So KEEP THOSE!!!! They’ll be worth A LOT one of these days!!!

there are counterfeit decks in China that cost a few euros. there are also versions printed under license by different companies so you can find different paper and colors

Hi. I did not realize there were other editions of the Gilded Tarot. It's so confusing! 😅 My Gill Tarot is so pretty grubby but I still use it. I'm kicking myself for not getting The Gilded Tarot and there's some Made in China and I'm not sure if I should get it. What to do?

Honestly I feel that the Gilded Tarot is a staple in any collection. There is just something about it. It's also not an expensive purchase so maybe get it when you can... It really is gorgeous!

I bought this when it was in the cheaply-made box from Llewelyn- not the second one you have here but one released close to the same time. The card stock is thick and not great. I don’t use it much just because of that. The deck you have that came in the Easy Tarot I think is better quality- I have a friend with that deck and it’s entirety different. I think I bought the worst- quality one! 😢

Thanks Rene. Really enjoyed that. I'm slowly warming up to Ciros artwork. If you had to describe the card stock, what other deck would you say its the same as?? The new deck is really stunning though. I recently saw Sandra's (the whispering well) review a Ciros Encore deck. Hey Conrad, thanks for watching.. The Gilded Royale is standard Llewellyn cardstock which I honestly dont mind. Its not overly thick but also not too flimsy. For my small arthritic hands it shuffles well... And if you want the Encore deck - yes please!!! I have been oooogling it for some time now and would love to get a copy! Happy to go half on shipping

When did they stop gilding the Gilded Tarot? Your cards show that it originally came gilded. Is yours an indie edition? Sorry to say that my deck is not gilded. I bought the kit (deck, Barbara Moore book, sheer black bag and 2 spread cards) in 2006 or just after from a book store. The box says Llewellyn 2004 and the book says 1st edition, 5th printing, 2006. My outter box lifts up on the right side and inside there is a box that you can decorate with an attached card that tells you how to care for the deck. My deck looks brand new since I barely used it. Soon I will edge it with black ink, but I won't be trimming it. Also, I plan on getting the Gilded Tarot Royale as well. Borderless, updated and very pretty! ~~Kitty

Hi, my original was not gilded. I think what you're seeing is the worn and dirty edges. That deck is so well used! 🤣🤭😉 it really is a gorgeous deck! And yes, my first deck came in the same box kit, with the black bag etc.
