3:02: With the information that his dad has gold creation/ferrokinesis, it seems like Gildedguy has a little bit of the control half of the power. He can pull his armor back together once he focuses, and he can improve it's durability. It also probably helps make it lighter for him, so he can move without being over encumbered by the weight and can still use that weight to and more force behind his attacks. It can absorb some properties of attacks, like heat and lightning, giving his attacks that effect. And as seen in the fight with Oxob, energizing the armor also energizes Gild, which appears to amplify all of the above properties. The main weaknesses seem to be; he can't control gold that's been broken off his armor, so it can be worn down; acquiring gold to maintain the armor is difficult given the value of the metal, and he can't use other metals; and he can only make the armor so tough, as it can still be broken even if he's completly focused. Just adding the detail of the dad's power adds so much to his son's armor choice.

Decided to rewatch this and it just occurred to me that the guy at the weapon check could've _easily_ kept GG from getting his sword yet he just stood there and did _nothing._ You had _one_ job dude.

If he stopped Gildedguy, that might make him “involved” in a duel that was supposed to be just Gildedguy and Jade. It’d be breaking the rules of engagement or something. Now i have noticed that he rarely uses his sword ability when near others people's, like he has only used it to it's fullest when he is very far away to others people besides his enemies, this is his only fight where he does it and he didn't even use it like he did against bog and oxob. Watching this guy back I’ve come to appreciate the way he fights, he’s not some master fighter, he’s actually pretty bad in comparison to some of the people he’s fought, he always pulls through by sheer durability and grit, he has not quit and will take a beating to get in close enough to land on hood ko hit

The fact he adapts to his enemies plays a big factor as well. Vs Jade: Breaks apart her clan’s stuff to break her mentally Vs Bog: Uses fire to damage Bog, cut’s the grass around him so Bog loses the ability to sneak him, also using his pen so he could see somewhat in the dark. Vs Oxob: Uses the conductivity of his armor to counter Oxob’s electric attacks, wraps up Oxob’s hands before using his pen and cape like Benjamin Franklin’s key kite to electrocute Oxob. R.H.G: Works his creativity in conjunction with his fellow fighter’s air powers. Vs Mar: Uses the gold horde to repeatedly empower himself and go blow to blow with the dragon. Made this a 1am :)

This is a good fight. Jade’s skills lie within her fighting technique. She actually kicks gilded’s ass for most of the fight, but the location they were in let gilded get the best of her. Gildedguy’s skills lie within his environment, often relying of his surroundings to get the better of his opponent, which makes up for his lacking fighting skills.

Now after watching Story 8 and the origin story I realized something: This whole process of GG’s journey wasn’t only just a live watching of his story but an artistic redrawing from his perspective. I think it adds some cool perspective that over the years he not only becomes a skilled and renowned fighter but also his drawing skills increase.
