This video is a classic example of how impressive Ben is with interviews. They always feel like great conversations and he somehow keeps all of Gile's history and the history of Gile's games/studios in his head to ask very intriguing deep cutting questions. Had a lot of fun listening to this.

Very intriguing video, IIRC it was he who had already said plenty on the creation of SM64 on another site. You should have asked him to say everything he knew about OoT. Or, if you had to do SM64, gotten him to comment on individual things from the gigaleak. Would’ve also liked to hear his opinion on the PC port and how fans implemented ray tracing.

Great interview! A damn shame that Switch port of Tank Troopers never came to fruition. Would’ve picked up in a heartbeat. Fantastic 3DS game that got overlooked for being late to the party

We were really keen to make it, especially to have people to experience multiplayer which was always the core of the title. We'd upped the visuals, added tank treads with suspension and had it running at 1080p 60fps. Really wish that had panned out.

Excellent interview. I put this on at first in the background but ended up paying full attention for it all. If I could I would thank Giles for this and shake his hand as it's obvious he does not enjoy being interviewed. I'm sure a lot of us can relate to this, I know I can.

Absolutely incredible interview - this is a gem! Without you asking these kinds of questions Ben, we'd miss out on learning so much about video game history. And I'm very grateful to Giles for being so gracious and open about answering this stuff! Obviously it's just his work history to him, but these kinds of details are Holy Grails to the rest of us haha.

Wow, I really loved this interview. Maybe it was because the interviewee didn't seem to used to being in this situation, but it really felt like something new

Loved this! Amazing interview, Giles is a legend, and thanks as always Ben for content like this! Crazy how he lives half his time on Ishigaki, it's so far from the mainland. Gorgeous remote place though, would be a dream to work at a studio on an island like that!

I must say this has to be one if not the coolest interview ive ever listened to! I grew up playing Nintendo games, always dreaming of working at the big N or Capcom and this dude worked since he was 18 at the biggest most influental place at a super interesting technical time. Such a likable dude humble and full of interesting stories 10/10

This is the Shoshinkai 1995 Zelda demo Giles mentions which did make it into the public viewership. The other stuff he's describing with Link running around a castle with portals has never been seen or ever mentioned before this interview. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaCXfHRmr5h4rZY

Great interview Ben! It's always fun to learn something new and there was a lot on offer here. I wonder what one of those emulated N64 dev stations would cost now a days!? Crazy to think about it.
