Funny because I think that's what was rumored back then in the 90s with John carpenter. However, because escape from LA was poorly received, John wanted to quit filmmaking but reconsidered after filming "Vampires". After that, Ghosts of Mars was made. It was supposed to be an escape from sequel, but was changed. If you pay attention to Ice Cubes pants, it's red camouflage, snake pissken has white and black camouflage, an homage to his previous films.
