Gillette Mach3 v. Mach3 Turbo | Day 8

The Mach 3 and Mach 3 Turbo would be perfect if they had an edger on the back for under the nose. I will pick up a Turbo next time. Mach 3 is my favorite overall. Even over the Fusion, ProGlide and ProShield. Good video.

In terms of cartridge razor, the Mach 3 Turbo is the best out there in my opinion, even when compared to the normal Mach 3. It's not aggressive to the skin, do not nicks, no micro-cuts, no ingrown hairs and it is very smooth. I have tried all the Fusion lines and the Shick/Wilkinsons Hydro 3 and Hydro 5. One particular thing to note is that the Mach 3 Turbo cartridge last me and stays sharp much longer (talking about 4-6 months) than any other cartridge razor, based on 2-3 shaves per week. Nowadays i only use the One Blade to trim my beard and the Mach 3 Turbo for headshaves. I'm slowly getting rid of my Braun Electric razors lol!

I used a Mach 3 Turbo when I was cartridge shaving several years ago….mainly DE shave these days. Still use the Mach to get the hard-to-get spots (5 %) that my DE razor has a hard time getting….lower neck…nose area….chin area. I use a Mach 3 cartridge but don’t use the Gillette handle. I bought an Edwin Jagger (Sheffield, England) Mach 3 handle in nickel medal and ivory…and it.s gorgeous…a little heavier…and feels more solid in your hand. It costs $40 but is well worth it…will last for years. It just puts that plastic/rubber Gillette handle in the shade. They also have it with solid nickel and another with a black ebony handle.

Are the shaves you are getting on day 8 still close shaves? Watching day 8 video, now, and doesn't look to me if the blades are still shaving as close. Maybe still getting smooth, nick-free shaves, but blades are not shaving as close as they were in the beginning?

I don’t know why, I feel better with the regular Mach 3. Mach 3 Turbo irritates my skin much more than the regular Mach 3. I do 3-pass shave every day.

I have the same experience with some turbo blades. I’ve heard that many of them have been found to be counterfeit.

I think that's because of blades difference. If you put same pressure as mach 3 you would definitely feel irritation but with little less pressure with mach 3 turbo is a great deal. I tried both but turbo is a clear winner for more comfortable shave.

For me it's Mach 3 Sensitive cartridges plus Gillette Series Sensitive gel; I'll take that over any shave system from anyone (including Fusion). Don't worry about the "sensitive" name. For the gel, "sensitive" just means it doesn't have a lot of perfume (which can sting some people). For the cartridges, "sensitive" means it has the green-fading-to-white lube strip that was on the original Mach 3 turbo. Great shaves without irritation (I find the Fusion to be irritating/razor burn) at great prices - both the Sensitive gel and Sensitive Mach 3 cartridges are at the low end of the price scale. And the bright green of the gel packaging matches the bright green of the cartridges, which doesn't sound like much but it is kind of cool. Not to be confused with Mach 3 Sensitive "power" which I think had a battery and is probably discontinued.

Iam from Europe, I wanted to find the mach 3 sensitive blades since a few weeks but I cannot find them online or in stores( sold out online everywhere) maybe they replaced it with the turbo? But to be honest. I feel like the turbo blade is better than the sensitive because the lubricate stripe is larger as on the sensitive blades. But I will see how they do in the next shaves. Are you from the US?

@@nutellaboy1 I am from Germany. You can find the sensitive handle with an included blade but the cartridges aren’t being produced anymore as well es the handles. Everything you will find are just old Stock. But to be honest I already tried the sensitive out and it is identical to the normal Mach 3. I like Turbo the most currently anyway.

They rebranded it. It’s called the Mach3 3D now and it has a pivot ball

@@averageguytested I think the 3D is just a handle that accepts any type of Mach 3 cartridges (blades). The Mach 3 turbo cartridges are hard to find now, and the new ones don't seem to have the lubricating strip that fades from green to white. Best bet IMO are the Mach 3 Sensitive cartridges, they have the fading green lube strip just like the original Mach 3 turbo.
