Have watched many interviews of Gillian. Fascinating that she uses her "American" accent when on TV here, but her natural British accent in every interview overseas.

@@rrrusty49Yep. With James because she hears his accent and she immediately switches to an English accent. And then she turns back to her American accent when she is speaking to the other actor on the couch. It’s the same with John Barrowman. He uses American when in the US (and Doctor Who) but immediately switches to his Scottish when talking with his parents…or at Lorraine.

She doesn't do it intentionally. The first 20 years of her life, half of it was spent in the USA and other half UK. She said she switches accents without thinking about it, depending on who she's talking to.

She was ridiculed relentlessly as a kid in MI with a British accent so she does the American accent most of the time while doing press in the States out of habit.
