So many questions! I believe my roof is a bit more curved than yours, so may not be as easy. Is there any way to lock the hatch? Is there any way to seal against the sun on the inside in summer? It's beautiful, thank you for sharing. Liked and subbed 👍🏽

It's crazy that the boat hatch just happens to fit the emergency exit hatch of a school bus. Are those school bus hatches all the same size? (I'm considering buying a 2005 Bluebird). And do you have any more info about that particular hatch? The first link you have errors out. And the second one just takes you to a generic page of boat hatches. Thanks for the great content! I just started my build this is perfect, great video! are all the escape hatches a standard size? I really wish you could get these exact hatches still but apparently not:( I need to find something similar and I think from your advice below and go with one hatch and one fan:)

How big is the opening in your bus roof and how big is your the boat hatch you used? I have a 96 bluebird school bus. I’d guess all the bus hatch ports are similar.

With the bus roof being curved, was it difficult to get the flat roof hatch to seal?

Our bus really isn't curved much at the top. It wasn't difficult at all on our bus.

Yea, seeing the same potential issues on the conversion im working on. This installation video looks to be far from what might be a typical experience. Appears (to me) in the bus in this particular video the internal structure was possibly modified with a wood frame to render the mounting surface “more flat” than the 3/4” sweep. IDK, I got to figure this out myself before I remove the old OEM hatch.

How much light does your hatch let in? Is it a pretty good source of light, or does the tint take away from that?

It lets in a lot of light. Too much in the summer. Real nice in the fall and winter

The boat hatch links no longer work. Do you remember the make and model name of the hatch you used here?

OK Arnold Schwarzenegger come and do my hatch I’ve got a Thomas built safety line or Bus class D transit Mercedes-Benz MBe 900. I did my floor insulation Fat-mat Now I’m doing my steps Did you or have you thought about painting the outside of your Bus I’ve got the color picked out for mine I definitely want a moonroof on one vent and a vent fan on the other sure the fan will go to the front and the moonroof will be in the back of my bedroom so I can stare at the moon and the stars and maybe watch an airplane crashing intooo me lol. What a cool moon roof me like bro ham Who’s all the hot chicks definitely need that inspiration.
