Honestly I believe we need shows like Gilmore girls and friends. I love how you can just sit down and watch an episode instead of going right from the start. I actually watched an episode from the third season of Gilmore girls and that's how I got hooked. But besides that there's something about these older shows they just seem so friendly and inviting

However, I am SOOOO happy the show is coming back on. Netflix can thank Gilmore Girls for my membership these last 3 months, and future months!!

I love how Kelly speaks up about how a show like Gilmore girls could survive today on TV. There are way to many reality shows out there. We need more family shows and shows that the parents can sit down with their kids and they watch it together. The part about the market not being there. The market does not give a show a chance. They give a show a season and then pull it off the air. They don't give the people a chance to respond to it.

It's all about money and ratings. We use an outdated system and advertisers don't want to sponsor a show they don't know whether or not it will succeed. They are notorious for cutting shows before they gain the fandom. They did it with Almost Human and Revolution. It wasn't an instant hit so they cut it. It's just so sad. I'm so glad that Kelly thinks that we need more shows like GG! I HATE most of the reality shows on the air. There are some that I like of liked a bit like when Shannen Doherty and Scary Spice had one but I think they were x episode specials. It was intriguing to see what those stars were doing but really when I sit down in front of the TV, I want a story. A nice, good story. I have many favorites and GG is still at the top of my list. For many years it was Charmed, GG and Roswell. Now I just sort of add to my list and older shows take a backseat. I never turn off GG! I wish I own all of it but unfortunately I have other things to buy.... like appliances haha.

What Lauren Graham said about the comfort of Stars Hollow is exactly what I think about the show, that town and the setting always calms me down and makes me feel comfortable it's kinda weird but true
@Maatjuhhh4 жыл бұрын
Someone once said: "Stars Hollow is a Norman Rockwell-esque town, a pure concentrated happiness." I totally agree with this. The every day problems in Stars Hollow is really small compared to real life. Taylor Doose wants to build a bridge, Kirk lost his cat Kirk again or Sookie can't figure out which rub should go on turkey. If that's your problems, i'd bet on it that life is pretty good.

In this kind of indusrty people like open people, those who talk well, who seems to talk to you like you are their friend, but alexis has a pretty closed personnality, but as an actress it shouldnt be a problem, because, what her job is not to entertain being herself, but playing roles that are not her, no need to know who she really is right ? it's sad to read all those bad comments about her being boring,... what is wrong with being shy and introverted ?!

My third time through the series in two years. I love the mental health of Lorelai when Amy was writing. She did such an amazing job on creating entertaining characters around a very strong female lead. Once she left and we got the Rory Logan drama and Lorelai's character became passive aggressive the show lost much of its draw for me. How do you feel about the change in the writing?

Lauren's response about the show being a comfort is so true, and I always think this when people say the relationship between Lorelai and Rory is unrealistic. I really believe Gilmore Girls was ahead of its time. I just discovered it last year because my daughter and son were teen and pre-teen, respectively, during those years on TV, but I had no time to watch it back then. It was right on point and it hits you hard and fast and so cleverly that nothing else since has come close to it--such a unique blend of tone, life imitating life, idealized yet real.

I really love what ASP said about Lorelai at 26:10. Lorelai was so smart and bright and sharp, and all Emily saw was what she could’ve been if she hadn’t become pregnant at 16 that Emily didn’t see the incredible life her daugher has built for Rory. It was a perfect description of a wonderful character that is Lorelai Gilmore.

Love you all. hugs.

Same here! I watched Gilmore Girls first and absolutely fell in love with young Jared and his adorable dimples, and I was sooooo upset when he left the show. So then I looked up what other shows he was in and came across SPN and fell in love with it. This happened when I was living in Africa at the age of 13, and after all these years at the age of 20, I got to meet him in 2015 at a convention and I told him my story. It was amazing and he was so genuine and sweet and appreciative. I love him lol. But still, Team Jess FTW! Hahahaaha.

Gilmore Girls has been a big part of my life. Im only 21 years old, so I used to watch it with my mum as a small kid, however I now re watch it and go "yes I remember this, Omg what happened to Rory happened to me". This show has subconsciously shaped my life and its not until recently I have realised it. And it still shapes my life in the now, motivating me with my studies and with the precious relationship I have with my mum. Of course Ive had my hellish years, but I can always come back to this show and reminisce in the innocence of both the Gilmore Girls and my life as it was and is. All I can say is Thank you, thank you for being there as an outstanding role model throughout.
