What I love the most about the slow burn of L & L is that with Max and Christopher, Lorelai was always confident, had witty comebacks and was charming towards them. But with Luke, she's nervous! She stumbles around him and doesn't have as many quips as she normally did. I love it!!

Lorelai gets jealous when Luke is with Rachel, Nicole, etc. She admits to him that she doesn't want him to move and - we think, she's about to tell him that it's because she has feelings for him, when they're interrupted by the pastor. But then, in this episode, she doesn't seem particularly blown away or nervous when he asks her to dance and later, when he walks her home, she says "it was fun... well, good night."

It's called fan service. The only things good in the sequel came from callbacks to the series, yet it killed off more sequels by a vengeful rewrite of season 7. They should've been raising a kid. I don't know if you realized, but the series became fiction, a story made up by Rory.

I remember cringing so much at this and feeling so awkward IN A GOOD WAY because I got so used to them being best friends. They were so perfect together. I really hate that the writers fucked them up. He was trying to be better and he was trying to be worthy of her. Why didn't he continue when April came into his life? And now my thoughts of all the great times they had in their relationship are ruined by all of the shitty things that he did. And now I can never love them because I don't think that he deserves her. I think she deserves better. I think that she wastes her entire life on a man that isn't good enough for her.

I agree that they screwed up their story, but Lorelai did some pretty crappy things too. Like every time she'd get jealous or upset with him being happy with someone else but she's dating other people too. And then when she slept with Christopher when she and Luke in a sense weren't truly 100% over. And Luke came through for her so many other times which I think is worth more than the bad decisions he made when a 12 year old was suddenly dumped into his thus far stable and solid life.

Nothing Lorelai did, not the little jabs she made at his marriage or her jealousy is as bad as that. And then to top it all off he didn’t even want to marry her. She was screaming and crying saying “marry me. I love you” and he said “no”. that’s why she slept with Christopher a man that did want to marry her, a man that wanted her. And yes, he was always there for her and he loved her and Rory. But she was his fiancé and he didn’t want her to know his daughter. And then to top it all off(again) when they did finally get together at the end of the series and we saw them in the revival, they were still fighting about the things that they were fighting about in the original series about marriage and kids. In the years that we didn’t see them their relationship didn’t move from boyfriend and girlfriend to husband and wife. That is another thing that pissed the fuck out of me. How are they nearly in their 50s and still arguing about getting pregnant. How didn’t she have another child? Because Luke didn’t want a kid. Lorelai deserved better. I’m not saying that Christopher was a better man but at least Christopher wanted to marry her and have a family with her. Luke and Lorelai were roommates.

I D F Y I understand that that is life but in terms of this Lorelai wanted another kid and she wanted to get married and him not wanting to marry her is what broke them up in the first place. You make plans they change people change I agree. But Lorelai didn’t change in terms of that. If that did change for her the topic of having another kid wouldn’t have been brought up. They wouldn’t have went to go see Paris. But it did, and they did. Lorelai even said in the original series if she met the right person she wants another kid. “You want to be there for each other no matter what.” Once again, I agree. But him not wanting to marry her is what drove her into Christopher’s bed and into a marriage with a man that she didn’t particularly want to be in a marriage with in the first place. “Be there for each other no matter what” but marriage is about sacrifice and communication and comprise, and it seems like Lorelai is the only one making sacrifices she is the only one communicating and she is the only one willing to comprise. She comprised her entire life to be with him. And he didn’t do jack. She sacrificed what she wanted to be with him, and she just deserved better. With all of her heart, she deserved more than what she got and who she got. And once again, I’m not saying Christopher was a god send and a saint, but he wanted to marry her and he wanted to have a family with her and he wanted to give her everything she ever wanted. Christopher could have made her happy, I don’t know if Luke can. I don’t even know if this answers what your replied to me but Luke just upset me. He upset me with not being good enough for her. He waited 8 years for her to look at him with romantic eyes, he waited 8 years to have her. It upset me that he didn’t give the person he waited 8 years for everything she wanted. It was disappointing. It just upset me.
