No one can convince me that someone in college who has more responsibilities in their life than just basketball is going to get better, faster than someone who’s WHOLE job is to play and get better at basketball. When it’s your job, you’re just able to put in so many more hours or work than a student-athlete.

Wrong basketball is more than just time put in its fundamentals. These college coaches have made careers of making top players better, not g league coaches. The reason jokic, luka and others are so skilled is bc they are taught fundamentals from a young age. The only place to learn fundamentals in the U.S is college. If you're a headcase then its going to be hard to get to you at any level. If they make it to the NBA its usually off of pure talent, or they look like they are coachable. We had one like Rashad in ATL, Jalen Johnson had talent but wasn't played early on because of college and early pro attitude problems (reportedly). They waited until he was humbled by the athletes of the NBA, then barely played him as he showed attitude improvement. As he changed it around he got his playing time and is now going to be in All Star talk every year. I could have totally seen him being handled differently, and instead of becoming a rising name he could have been another guy riding the bench or turned into a Cam Reddish. Rashad is disappointing, he had the athleticism but, to this day, his head still gets in the way in his resting demeanor, 20 years later.

Now since he’s shown that he belongs none of those people are praising Bronny. Remember most those people say the same shit like “I’m routing for Bronny” so where is the praise.

McCants is wrapped up in his college career. Going to college being “The Man” and then going to the NBA only to change his role impacted his career. It happens all the time to players that come out of the college machine. That’s why it’s so rare for players to be the same afterwards and European players are usually ahead of the curve. Younger players come in to get more experience and end up further along than their counterparts who stayed in college for longer.
