Are you maby thinking of reviewing the Removu S1? I'm kinda in a bad spot, thinking of either the Karma Grip, Removu S1 or the Feiyu G5. Can't really make up my mind. Believe you do the best Reviews as far as I've seen on KZbin, so would be nice to hear your thoughts on the Removu as well.

I like your test, Debbie is wonderfully patient, can’t say I like your neighborhood (I am more of a high-rise apartment in CBD kind of guy :) but your review is still very relevant and appreciated. Pass on my thanks to Debbie as well. These days we have the Hero 7 and it automatically switches off hypersmooth EIS when on the Karma Grip and wondering if the Hero 7 EIS will work while on the EVO and if that combo beats the Osmo Action’s EIS. The EIS always has the limitation that it struggles in lower light but, if investing in a gimbal, I want to maximise the benefits. Do you think the EVO is still relevant in 2019? Like you, I am still using the Hero 4 Black, but mine is showing signs of old age and I need to replace it and the Hero 7 is beckoning.

Did you turn on the image stabilizer on hero 5 while testing this? and why dont you switch that hero4 black to the g5 and the hero 5 to the evo and see how it gets. Can hero4 be used on karma grip?

great review... any of those two gimbals has a recording button on the gimbal? how does one turn off and on the gopro when its gripped to the gimbal? (apart from GP voice command). I am thinking of getting a gimbal for my GP7 but seems apart from the Karma Grip, other action camera gimbals has no record button on the gimbal... please advise.. cheers... :-)

hows that even a test you have the 4 on evo and 5 on g5, i hope u get to switch them around otherwise your test is meaningless, i bet u if u put the 5 on evo youll here motor noise, and put the 4 on g5 and no noise

I have just bought the Feiyu G5, a couple of points I'd like to raise, is the EVO splash sproof like the G5 is ? In addition, as regards the audio, personally I wouldn't use the GoPro for my audio source, I world prefer using a seperate device dedicated to record audio, that way I ensure I have more control over my audio.

have you tried flipping the hero5 such that the mic is exposed and the lens is closer to the g5 body? maybe the audio quality wouldn't be compromised

I have the Feiyu G-5. I turned wind and stabilizer on, flipped the camera around so the power button is towards the outside and it works beautifully.

I have general concerns about the Hero 5 generally. Audio - I bought the expensive mic connector and a Rode mic - 100 times better. BUT purchased a aluminium body to house the shoe and mic. Can't use on the G5 because of the weight / balance. Aftermarket batteries / firmware update doesn't now allow them. Voice activated commands seem buggie -too. Hopefully GoPro will rectify?? Or shall we all wait for Hero6??

The EVO has strong motor setting out of the box...however you can adjust the Feiyu Tech settings in app so drift is not there and also roll adjustments as well.

I've been in contact w/ GoPro and it really seems like the device needs to be in "wind" mode to get any kind of decent audio out of it. Stereo mode is supposed to be disabled as soon as the Hero 5 is docked in the Karma Grip. I've found that it doesn't do it reliably...so I have to go in and change it manually. That doesn't account for the poor audio out of the Hero 5 anyway...so I'm kind of at a loss at what to do. I guess the ultimate solution is to just return both my Hero 5 and Karma Grip and get a Hero 4 Silver and then a random gimbal like the EVO GP Pro or the G4. What a pain in the butt.

Can the EVO GP Pro house the Hero4B along with the detachable LCD? If so, will the gimbal still work properly without hickups due to weight added from LCD?

No it can not. I use the 4 black without the LCD as you can pretty much guess where it is filming due to the wide angle.

Sam I have both, I like the image of the Osmo, but the sound is terrible even with the small mic that DJI sell, you run out of battery in less than 30 minutes and you are wasting battery from your phone and is bigger than the EVO. I'm planning to sell my Osmo to get the EVO for mirrorless cameras.
