The From the Depths AoG Gimle battleship is completed and battles continue with the Drakenslang Battleship Mk1.5 by ‪@BorderWise12‬ which will be the stronger battleship? To BATTLE!

Gimle Open Seas Build Rules:
- Naval ships or low flying airships. Your submission should work in a naval setting but cannot submerge, it also can't fly higher than 500m if it is an airship.
- No cheese, like no 1m tetra spam filled areas for aim spoof, no internal waterpropellers or azipods, no spincliping and all those other usual cheese tactics are banned.
- Max 100K blocks
- No extreme missile or interceptor spam (hint: use mediums and not so manny smalls)
- No waterpumps or heliumpumps what so ever, like not a single one can be present on your build.
- Under 2.2 million cost: that means 2.1XXX not 2.2XXX
- Max 2 Repair Bots
- No spawners/drones/docked crafts
- No extreme subobject spam (like 200 dif guns)
- No intentional melee
- No video screens and cameras present on the battleship (the one that makes captains see when there is no windows)
- Ship can not play video our audio sources during battle. (includes YT video players etc)
- When submitting the ship, any lights and smoke generators should be switched off and not activate during the battle since they cause unnecessary lag, if you have a decorated version with interiors etc we should check out please submit one "battle version" where laggy stuff is turned off and one "parade version" that looks cool with all its lights, video players or cameras and smoke effects etc enabled and working.
Btw: if your ship lags too much I will not be able to use it. If your ship breaks the rules the battle will be cancelled.
- Deadline: Open submission.
- Ships must be submitted to me via Discord DM or Email, send the .blueprint file, not a workshop link.
Battle Rules:
- The battles will be best of three.
- All ships will spawn with the bow towards Gimles bow, gimle is a one sider, but it still spawns nose to nose, make your ship manouverable enough to avoid a collission. This rule is because the ships will close in on eachother and that is much more entertaining than far away orbiting battles (thanks Menti!), if you want that, spend on manouverabillity and speed, because you are not getting optimal orbit for free.
- Given 500K materials.
- You need to be able to win within 15 minutes of ingame time per battle.

Woohoo! Great fight! Commenting as I go, don't read if you don't want the video spoiled, people! - For the record: Drakky is still my pride and joy. :) - The upgraded mark 1 just has a simpler 90 degree broadside setting, specifically to flank the Gimle. It also can fire its railguns on partial charge, as I stupidly didn't check that option before and so the hybrid guns stopped firing. XD - Another reason Drakky has dual CRAMs is so that the first shell wastes DIF volleys, and the second shells sail right through. - It was complete dumb luck that the Drakky has so little blocks below the water. It didn't occur to me at the time that it would counter the Gimle's railguns. XD - Drakky is actually not supposed to drive away THAT far. Sorry about that, I wanted to see the flanking too. Darn it, FtD AI! - I am so embarrassed that Drakky got hit with a mortar. Clearly she's too predictable. >_< - In hindsight, surrounding the AI with hot custom jets was not very smart. I'm so glad I got rid of them for the Mark 2. - I feel bad that Drakky kept winning by running out the clock and draining the Gimle of materials. That's no fun. :( - I'd say the second fight was a draw. Time ran out, neither ship could kill the other. Again, not proud of that. - Yet another disadvantage of CRAMs is how block-dense they are. I've noticed that CRAM turrets tend to get shot at a lot, just because they're so many small blocks clustered together. - For anyone reading this, don't do I what I did with Drakky 1: separate out your AI compartments! Sticking all your brains in one place is not a big-brain move. All in all, I'm happy with how Drakky did in this video. Could be better, she really should've flanked more. But it was fun! Lovely to see these two fight again, looks like I'll have to record more Drakky 2 fights! :D

Thanks for the battle mate GG! Looking forward to the Gimle Mk2 battle that also will be coming up here, will be interesting to see the difference on how that moves and behaves! Those dual CRAMs are very smart doing it like that, I tried similar setups but gun sync fails so often for me I never dare to use it!!! even though I know how to set them up they just don't fire sometimes ever IDK its strange, not even firing after max wait time, so yeah I don't trust them haha, but works great on your ship! FtD AI is a menace, this battle became so long OMG, I'm sure the Mk2 battle will not be this long LOL Hahaha mortars they are fun 😈 And you should test the Drakky against some other famous foes, would be cool to see! 😆

Awesome fight! I like the longer-range stuff, it feels more "realistic." Loved the close-to-the-water camerawork you did on Drakky. It really showed the insane speed and scale well.

52:00 😂You're trying to force the logic too hard dude. You lost by flipping and running out of materials. A hidden irony of the battle is that the 2 turrets and custom engines being destroyed severely reduced the Draco's material usage while your own ship had mostly working guns. A damaged AI works slower but still works afterall.

Agree, this was a victory 3-0 for Drakenslang. The Gimle was capsized and basically dead in the water while the Drakenslang still had mobility and could shoot.

After many years of tournaments and battles I have learned that you make a set of rules and stick to them, otherwise you will be more unfair. If the outcome is vague with the rules the rules need changing next time, but not sticking to the rules doesn't turn out well in the end in my experience :)

@@GMODISM While I do agree that the fine print rules should triumph in cases where the outcome could be contested, I think they should not be applied in cases where any observer would agree that one ship is able to fight and the other ship is not.

quite a slugfest. i would have thought drakenslangs giant exposed propellors would be vulnerable. if physics were more of a factor in the game then the drakenslang might have buckled in half during the second fight, especially given its maneuvering, so much of the center hull was chewed out.

long range is much better than the close range bs. half the weapons in the game are meant for long range engagements.. and making everything diff guns kinda has drawbacks.

Well... I can pretty confidently say that if we remove the crams from the drakenslang and replaces them with those aps it also has, it would loose this battle every time, so yeah that tells me a lot! But in principle it's good to be far away and not get hit.

Never been a fan of Borderwise's designs. He has been putting out From the Depths content for years and still hasn't made it past the DWG.

He just plays the game more like a sandbox than a campaign. I don't have any issues with that.

He really sticks with his style, some like it some don't, but, the drakenslang can probably beat anything in the Nether of the same cost, so I think it's a strong ship :)
