Where is the half hitch training video Really good video
@bwrstockdogtraining27237 ай бұрын
Hi there! It’s called “Getting your dog to stop pulling on the leash. The half hitch technique “ . My friend learned it in the UK years ago and taught it to me. The dog just automatically self corrects. I’d send you a link but I’m not very techy. Thanks for commenting. Best wishes.

I’ve heard of folks using a head halter setup but I’ve never tried it.

What's the difference between "hold" and "there"?
@bwrstockdogtraining2723 Жыл бұрын
Hi there, “hold” means to stop. I give the dog a choice to stand or lie down when they stop on a “hold” command. I use “down” when I want to take more pressure off the livestock instead of “hold”. “There” means for the dog to turn into the livestock and walk straight towards them.

Buna ziua.Am incercat catelusul cu un bat, in farful batului am pus un sac de hartie.Am intrat in siloul meu rotund si catelusul era in afara stiloului.

He is playing. Was he interested in goats at all? When a border collie is working they are normally quiet and do not bark. If they are insecure they will bark also.
@bwrstockdogtraining27232 жыл бұрын
Go in to the goats without the staff with your puppy and try to free him up by getting him excited about the goats. If he gets excited about them let him play then try to guide him to circle them. Good luck! Best wishes!

Buna. Detin un border collie in varsta de 6 luni.L-am cumparat acum o luna .Este foarte fricos si suspicios si nul intereseaza caprele . Eu am capre BOER.Ce sfaturi i-mi dati?Va multumesc anticipat .Cu stima si respect George.Traiesc in Romania

Hello George. You will need to build his trust and confidence. If he lays down and rolls over on his back for you to pet his stomach pat your leg to have him sit up then pet him and tell him he’s a good dog. If he tries to hide between your legs or behind you, step behind him and pet him and tell him good dog. These things build confidence. Speak with a soft reassuring voice. When you take him to the goats use hissing sounds to excite him and interest him to look at the goats. Get him excited and when he looks at them say watch them. Praise him when he watches or shows interest in the goats. Hopefully he has enough instincts bred into him that he will eventually want to work. In the meantime teach him lie down, walk up, stay and to come when you call him. This is a start. Hopefully it is helpful. Best wishes to you and your puppy.
