Soooooo, is that supposed to explain why they charge $900-$1200? I used to have a curl back in the day, and I twisted, braided, and did other things, and it always came out beautifully. And my hair grew a lot, and I didn’t have to use a lot of curl activator nor spray to soak my hair, and it only costed $68. Go figure.

Thanks for the Q&A! I too am a Gina customer. I started with GC and then just recently switched to the Thermal Reconditioning. I'm 4 months in on the TR and it still looks great. They are truly amazing at what they do.

I love your video and your approach to responding to the comments...very tactful AND informative. I understand that many of the beliefs we have about what we wear and how we style our hair is strongly based on society "norms" but as we mature, many of us change. I have natural hair but I enjoy the freedom to choose how I want to wear it and if I choose to put a chemical in it, no one should feel offended by it. I'm very big on live and let live, that's real freedom. So, I'm all with the "you do you" lol. Lastly, you and your hair....absolutely beautiful.

Good question!! They do soak the hair in a solution before rolling. No idea what it is though!

Hun the old curly perm Jerry curl in 1980 did have hood dryer in the process ,I use to have one and hated the hood dryer as 9 years old girl.From what I can see Gina is get marketer and she seems to deep conditioner before doing Gina curl.

Right now, I am using Trader Joe’s shampoo and conditioner. Before that, it was Aussie’s and before that, it was GinaCurl shampoo and conditioner. I use KinkyCurly Knot Today leave-in and Cantu curl activator cream. For my deep conditioner, I use Not Your Mother’s Curl Talk. Hope this helps!

To get a GinaCurl you have to either go to Hair’s Talent or to one of the salons she has trained. Check their website for the list!

I don’t think it has to do with more desirable curls, it probably has to do with management of your hair. Some people hair is so thick, long and unmanageable, that they need to do something because they probably can’t even get a 🪮 through it 🤷🏽‍♀️

Y'all can't go by the tv jheri curl. The jheri curl needed moisture but tv made it look bogus to be funny. I wore it in the late 80s and it didn't look like that. Now I do have the curly perm (wave nouveau curl) basically it looks like yours. I moisturized my hair every 3 days with product and oil. It can be dry but like any hair you have to moisturize it. You can style it different ways etc. I love it because it's easy to maintain. You can rinse your hair not dye, after it's done. My 4c hair was crazy definitely enjoy my hair now. My hair cost $65. Enjoy it.

Still a Jherri Curl just reformed. Sorry to bust your bubble. Not all ppl hair fell out from Jerri curl unless they did not take care of it. Ppl think this is a easy way out but it's not! In fact it more work and up keep. If anyone is considering any type or hair reconstruction make sure and I stress this make sure you invest in quality products. If you're unsure of what those are please ask a professional. ✌️ peace

BINGO!🎯 A person should always manage their "curly perm" with the best products, get it washed regularly, re-rodded and ends clipped. Lots of people would get the process but wouldn't do the necessary things to keep it up, therefore causing the process to fail. We that kept our hair up to par understood that to get the best results was to keep it managed, thus experiencing the greatest permed performance.🌹✌🏽💯💯💯

I am a Certified GinaCurl Stylist! This is a GREAT FAQs @Amanda Day of the GinaCurl process that describes the difference between a GinaCurl and Jherri Curl, Wave Nouveau, etc. The GinaCurl is a Healthier Curly perm option. The main ingredient is Ammonium Thioglycolate and the technique/method/application of the GinaCurl differs from other perms.

Yay! Finally! You’ve been missed. Idk why you even bothered to address the naysayers at gc. They dont want it or like it, so why even bother?? There are so many of us who want one or have one and are looking to you guys to better understand the journey and day to day of it. I researched it for almost 2 yrs and finally got one and have not looked back since. It’s great, works for me. I think their customer service is great on the service; they are sweet as pie; but If there’s even a slight issue, you can kinda see some sharp edges, where they can be overly bottom line oriented. I haven’t encountered any perfect hair salons though, so you take the hood with the bad.
