I have more experience with Piccolo than I do with low flutes. Every time I play Bass Flute, I get so sore and my upper back gets stiff. I didn’t start playing a lot of low flutes until I got to my masters.😃❤️

Another good practice technique is to sing while playing. Really helps me to warm up well and get great tone.

I use different positions for my embrochure. My lip actually goes halfway into the hole for higher notes and i approch the concert embrochure but not quite to access the lower notes.

I never knew that you could get injured with a bass flute

Technically, you can get injured with any instrument depending on the weight and how the instrument is played - always listen to your body and don't push yourself if you feel pain :)

If you see this, do you have advice for high register? My low register is very solid surprisingly on bass flute, but once I try to play an E natural and F# on the staff I’m getting some harmonic / multiphonic stuff going on and can’t get those two notes solid. Do you think it’s a me thing or my instrument thing? I just bought it about a week ago and it was inconsistent when I was trying them out so I’m pretty sure it’s me, but I can’t figure out how to play with more focus on those two notes in particular!

I don't see why you have to start with C flute before moving to Bass. Does a person who wants to master Bass Violin have to study Cello first? I look at the Bass Flute as an instrument in its own right.
