Thank you so much! I believe Ginastera has the Gi pronounced the Italian way (gee)nastera. His father was Italian. Not Ghee I appreciate all you offer us❤

Hello Valentina, thank you so much for your lovely words! Regarding the pronunciation, I have heard that it can be pronounced both ways. Perhaps the Italian gee is preferable. 😊 With all best wishes to you. 💖

Fantastic! Thank you sally. I love these. Tim Zerlang once told me that these aren’t difficult. I beg to differ.

Thank you so much Gina! These were among the first videos I posted over 10 years ago. I'm glad you like them. 💖 I would describe these a little differently than Tim did. They are very pianistic and "sound harder than they really are." Once you get the rote memory, they are really fun to play. The difficulty is with the last movement, and having the stamina and endurance to play it very fast and loud without getting tired. This then makes it a more difficult piece! I hope you are going to play them! 🎵🎉

@@SallyChristianMusic Yes! You had recommended them many years ago. I came across the music recently and would love to finally play them 10 years ❤️

Well, although I didn't agree with all the interpretational choices you made, overall, I would say that this is a unique and valuable interpretation in that it is personal and shows this piece off in a new light. An unfamiliar light at times, but still beautiful and intriguingly different. Although we are pretty much familiar with the "standard interpretation", which is glorious, of course, I, for one, do not like all my delicious ice cream to taste the same day after day.

you make both ice cream and piano less fun

@@SallyChristianMusic Thanks for your kindness by reading my comment typed on my own native language, Brazilian Portuguese. As I said, I'm not fluent in English or any other language besides my own idiom. That's a shame for me, and a serious limitation in comunication with people from other countries through the world. But, in my favor, I have to say that I really needed to express my frustration with some wrong things wich I can't to be in concordance: some people aparently are interested only in to criticize the positive iniciatives from generous artists like you, Mrs Christian, or Mr. Paul Barton, or Mr Cory Hall, and so on. From me these artists always will to read positive feedbacks because I am a frustraded pseudo-pianist and I Knows the ammount of hard work to achieve such results in pieces highly complexes as this one that you brilliantly plays in this video. Im am your fan, not because you are a gorgeous woman (what is a "real truth" - that expression exists in English?) but mainly because you are passioneted about your work in these video-tutorials and such passion is "contagious" for sensitive musicians, pro or amateurs or simply music lovers. I love the job of yours in these tutorials and I will to divulgate them in Facebook as much as I can. Congratulations from Brazil, yet I don't be nothing else more than a unimportant citizen living in a country underdeveloped, culturaly speaking. (I hope this to be understable, I wrote this by using the Google Translator, directly in English and checking-out the translations and suggestions offered by the program.)

Strange, there is no sound with this video!! Was listening to your website and very interesting new way of teaching with adapted scores. Pitty i could not listen to this discussion abt. Ginastera dances..

+pghagen I'm glad you like the New Layout Chart Engravings that I developed for my piano edition and use in all my teaching videos. I'm really sorry to hear that you had no sound when you watched this video. The discussion segment sounds fine on my system, and I've not been told before about this being a problem for other listeners.
@pghagen8 жыл бұрын
+pghagen Thank you for replying to my comment mrs. Christian; This is the only video which does not give a sound, and it still does not. I have checked and the sound in the video is "on" as well as my speakers next to my computer. So i have no idea what is the problem...

The first and third dances are a bit too slow if not overly cautious. The third dance in places had poor pedaling and even a lack pedaling when it's needed. In both if these the dynamics performed are not representative of the score's markings. I prefer a bit slower tempo and even some rubato for the second dance. The dynamics start off fine but the middle section is cleary marked fortissimo which cleary did not happen. Overall the dynamic ranges for the second dance are grossly understated.
