This is the recording of Neveu's Poeme that we know least. We know the famous one, live with Charles Münch. I lived my childhood listening to this recording every time, he is better to my hear than her performance with Münch in 1949.

The sound ( truly individual), the vibrato (truly individual), the bowing technique, the phrasing, shades and colors, profund understanding of music, the mystical atmosphere, the risks she takes in the upper positions, her humility, her dedication, her passion...all makes Ginette Neveu unique in all history of violin playing. The Carnegie Hall live recording is as much interesting, her two live performances of Beethoven concerti, Brahms concerto, Brahms third sonata, Strauss, and Tzigane by Ravel, her numerous encore pieces she recorded as a teenager, everything is unique and exceptional.❤❤❤

It's takes maturity . This music is not for an easy listen and it has so much that is difficult on the violin . It feels like a journey ! That last passage with changing harmonies and the trills is unforgettable ! There is a small film showing Neveu in this music : it too is a treasure !

Both, Ferras and Neveu left memorable performances, which should be forever with us and a chalange for other violinists. Ferras in Sibelius' violin concerto movement 2 is an one time performance that even himself could not repeat; it happens rarely when emotions meet that particular moment.

J'ai cliqué sur tant de vidéos liées, à travers tant de paysages insolites, incroyables et étranges.. Je me sens comme dans un compartiment sur un chemin de fer, à admirer une succession de scènes folles jamais vues auparavant, des musiques importantes et étranges à travers la fenêtre du wagon... il y a tant de choses à explorer, tellement d'endroits où se poser puis rester dans les ambiances proposées. L. Kemp her brother was her elder brother. She died aged 30. He was sitting next to her on that plane. He was 31. They were heading to New-York on tour. He was her accompanist. Always had been. A high standard and fine pianist. It is sadly said that the bodies were so damaged (the crash on that mountain had been so tremendously violent) that they got mixed up, one being buried in place and name of the other. It took time to put it right, once the mistake was realized.

I just found out about Ginette because Im from the place where her plane crashed and my grandma told me about this plane crash that happened when my grandma was younger. She told me that after the crash some locals went on the mountain where the plane crashed and started robbing the corpses of everything of value including cutting their fingers off to get their rings etc... She also told me that her father helped carry the corpses to a church, and he said that there were so many body pieces all over the place that he needed to cover his nose because of the terrible smell, He carried mostly body parts down the mountain to church, and in church they tried their best to put the corpses back together like a puzzle and many of them may have gotten someone elses arm or leg etc... It was quite the tragedy...

NON. L'œuvre date de 1896 et Ginette Neveu est née en 1919. Sauf erreur, c'est Eugène Ysaÿe qui a créé ce chef d'œuvre.

Jean-Daniel MARTINO Je pense que la personne voulait dire que la véritable naissance de cette œuvre (sa création, au sens fort du mot), on la doit à Ginette Neveu. On pourrait dire que c’est Ysaÿe qui a créé l’œuvre, et mademoiselle Neveu qui l’a révélée. Bien des chefs-d’œuvre n’ont donc pas encore livré leur message, dans ce cas. Le concerto de Brahms, sans Ginette, je ne sais pas si je l’écouterais aussi souvent.

Mais l'oeuvre a existé avant elle. Qui sait comment Ysaÿe par exemple a joué l'oeuvre? On retrouve également des enregistrements 'pré-Neveu' de Jacques Thibaut ou George Enescu...

oui, hélas c'est bien vrai....mais on ne peut pas trop en vouloir aux gens; pouvoir apprécier certains artistes et certaine musique, comme celle-ci si belle de Chausson est aussi le fait d'une éducation reçue... c'est infiniment trop raffiné pour la plupart des personnes qui reçoivent bien peu comme culture, musicale en particulier, encore aujourd'hui.

Je ne suis pas d'accord, ou alors que très peu. La musique dépasse de très loin les clivages sociaux. C'est une affaire de sensibilité, et l'éducation permet seulement de découvrir mais pas de savoir apprécier. C'est pour ça d'ailleurs qu'on a cette ambiance bien prout prout dans beaucoup de concerts de musique classique alors que l'intensité donne envie parfois de se lever de son fauteuil. Et ces mêmes pseudos amateurs vont mettre la musique classique au-dessus du reste alors que c'est une aberration. Il n'y pas de hiérarchie dans la musique, bien que de la merde on en trouve trop (et qu'on se le dise, il y a beaucoup d'oeuvres de grands compositeurs qui sont ennuyeuses !). Or ceux qui ont une vraie sensibilité musicale et savent apprécier la beauté du poème de Chausson en assistant à une représentation salle Pleyel devraient prendre tout autant leur pied en assistant à un concert de Pink Floyd ou avec un set live de musique électronique (là encore il faut trier, écoutez cette merveille par exemple kzbin.info/www/bejne/in67g5afbcedhtU )

Like most of live recordings with orchestra she made, there is not really good sound balance. I suspect she was using her Guadgnini because of it's greater responsiveness, but less power and decible level. Her Stradavarius, though an Omobono, was still made by a Stradavari, It should like most, if not all live performances,be edited with modern stereo multitrack. I'm sure all the critics of her playing will eat their words

Hi Penelope. Did you know she and my father (Giorgio Ciompi) went to the Paris Conservatory at the same time? (studied with Boucherit) and then, later, both studied with Enescu?? They knew each other well and both won the Premier Prix. It's nice to see your comments everywhere! I have photos of them in class---both impossibly young...

Maybe the most sensitive people are out of the mainstream; NOT heterosexual, not acquisitive, not balanced, not happy. But their souls can soar above it all.!
