This song is about his close friend Carrie Fisher, who he used to often stay with when he was in LA.

Yes it is about his close friend, Carrie Fisher. He lived with her for a number of years after being introduced to her in an LA restaurant. He was there to record his first album, Back to Bedlum. She asked if he had found somewhere to live, and she invited him to stay with her. He lived with for quite a few years so were very close ♥️💔 xx

What's the matter with this guy? Bloody, Bloody James Blunt! Monsters wasn't enough? Oh, my good God! Another one? I'm struggling to breathe here, man. Oh God. Phew! Argh! This Brit has my cry number all day, any day. I'm done. Jesus.

This is beyond amazing. Astounding, even. So raw and full of sadness. Such regret. Love James.

He says in his documentary that he and his family aren't very expressive with their feelings, so it all goes into his songs 🤷🏾♂️

I flew from the US to Slovakia just to see him on my birthday. My grandparents had just passed away and it was my "last present" from them. He was amazing. This song and Monsters were really hard but also amazing

All his songs are beautiful. Now I'm waiting for a big big tear jerker. He needs to write a song about losing a beloved pet. That could be his biggest. Sob song yet. Come on James write it.

Bigger than, as here, losing his best friend?: or his mis-carried Daughter? ; or a fallen Comrade? or (at the time) his beloved Father? Hmmm......

As sad as his songs are, his concerts are one of the best and most fun I’ve been too. There are a lot of joyful songs too. If you get the chance to go see him live, do it

I listen to 'Bonfire Heart' regularly to remind me that James has written an upbeat and happy song. Give that song a try Mike and Ginger. You will enjoy it! 👌
