I went back to watch Trixie's shade moment and, in my opinion, I felt like Katya was struggling with the question and Trixie got her back. Seems to me Trixie was only trying to finish that awkward moment, because she always stick up to Katya

I agree but her comment didn’t do Ginger any favours though. She knew it was a sore spot for Ginger as well as Katya and while I’m glad she helped Katya, it’s sad that she shaded Ginger to do it. She could’ve said something like Katya and I are cool with Ginger, we love her and for fans to just drop the whole BFF thing and leave them both alone about it. Still, this was years ago and I’m glad the 3 of them overcame the toxicity from those fans and are still close now.

Watching this I really feel for Ginger. It makes me even more sad how upset she was about Trixie's shade. As much as I love Trixie, Ginger's story doesn't exactly paint her in the best light. This isn't the first time Trixie got possessive about "best" friends... when Robbie Turner said that she and Kim Chi were friends at the Drag Con panel last year, Trixie snapped back, "Oh, so Kim Chi's your best friend, that's really cool..." Yes, of course it's all comedy, but there seems to be a bit of aggressiveness underneath Trixie's insistence that only she can have Kim Chi and Katya as BFFs.

Kalleidoscape while that’s true, I can also understand it. Mainly because my best friend is very possessive of me. She obviously lets me have other friends because she doesn’t control me but she prefers to be my priority and it’s not selfish, it’s her own personal problems. A lot to do with her family life and her old friends. With Trixie I feel like it could stem from the same kind of thing, if you get where I’m coming from. It doesn’t excuse it but it’s hard to change, and even realising and accepting it is pretty difficult.

She might just be insecure -- and I don't think insecurity is as one-dimensional and shameful as society likes to paint it. As a person who's never managed to hang on to a friend for more than a couple of years, I know the terror you feel if/when you realize that someone you care for seems to be replacing you, or if you notice that you're a lower priority for them than they are for you. That fear can manifest itself in all kinds of ways, such as the comments you've mentioned Trixie making. Behaving possessively over another person, no matter the motive, is always wrong. But making a small comment in hopes of hearing the other person confirm that your fear isn't true? That's understandable.

Back in s7, literally 60-70% of the queens disliked Violet and Pearl / thought they were conceited, but Ginger was the one who got thrown under the bus and received all that hate from Violet/Pearl stans just because she lasted until the end. It's not fair to expect Katya to speak up when always had trouble standing up for herself. That's why her dynamic with Trixie worked because Katya is too nice to say no, and Trixie is the one who sets the boundaries. You can say that you would have fought against anyone, but you wouldn't really know how it is until you are in the exact same position with the exact same feelings and mentality as her. Fans were going to her house and harassing her, she was working non-stop while fighting addiction until she eventually had a breakdown. She was literally self-sabotaging while trying to please people. How could she take care of others when she was barely able to take care of herself?

Personally, I agree with Katya when she says the concept of "best friends" is juvenile, because people become ridiculously over-defensive about it. "Shes not YOUR best friend, she's MINE!!!"
