Well you can do the 8x8 but these can easily go to larger square canvas sizes.

yes and yes. And I find that some painting does not ages as well in the tubes. Like burnt umber from Matisse or even Liquitex. I prefer to use Holbien and Golden acrylics but the stay wet palette works very well.
