Fun fact about ants: If the pheromone trail crosses over just right, they can get stuck in what's called a death spiral (also called an Ant Mill), where they walk around and around until they run out of energy and their existence subscription expires, they aren't capable of realizing that there's a problem. A death spiral can happen if larger creatures wander through their scent trail and scuff it up causing the ants that are away from the colony to get lost and they follow each other, thinking the one they saw was one on the return journey, so they walk endlessly until they can't keep moving.

Just a couple of guesses: rebuilding a master cylinder not a bad idea, but also make sure your pedal shaft is not overextended to press a cylinder all the time. Also old brake hoses are possible to create a one-way-valve effect when they collapse their inner diameter.

I had a strange brake problem once on one of my Volvos. This might also be your issue. It started to work as a one-way valve (looking up the brakes/or at least not realizing the pads as it should) and got fine again after some time or when everything cooled down. The cure was to replace the rubber brake line with a brand-new one. Problem solved... The parts that I think were involved were using a brake line compressor to prevent brake fluid to escape from the brake line during the replacement of the calipers making some inner lining change or getting harmed. OR that the brake line rubber hose might not have got in at the exact angle (slightly twisted) after the caliper exchange. Anyway replacing it with a brand-new one solved the issue.

From what I understand, you can upgrade those factory LSDs to be pretty sick with the right parts. And F150 S-spring, carbon clutch pack WITH a restack, and the right amount of preload should be all that it takes. As it wears out and 1-wheels, you re-shim it tighter and reset the preload. The other part of the equation is not going with factory preload specs, lol.

A tip with fusion 360 and unit conversions (as I saw you did it on google): Instead of manually converting it (which could sacrifice accuracy), even if your default units are inches, you can type the dimension in in mm as long as you follow it with "mm". i.e. I work in metric and need a 4-inch part, I would type in 4in instead of 100... mm.

For the high power stuff, the Ford 8.8” is a great option. For the drift truck however, I think you should be using Toyota mini truck parts, like a V6 8” rear end. They have a third member instead of the differential carrier, so no more shimming lash. Same for the front sway bar, Toyota truck parts should be appropriately sized for the B2000
@rookiefloridasportsman77872 жыл бұрын
On the ford 88 you can over clutch the lsd by putting in the full new set and keeping in one of the old clutches. Works great for off-roading and burnouts but obviously I’ve never drifted my lifted truck.

Open the brake fluid reservoir and have some one lightly push on the brakes and you should have 2 streams of fluid shoot up from the compensating ports, if not then your rod from the pedal to the cylinder is still too long causing the brakes to lock up when hot. Need to make sure the compensating ports are open when not applied

A lot of times the pin will break on welded gear 8.8. But if you got the lsd you can fill the sides in it with steels and no clutches and weld the steels cause they are splined to the axle.
@Gczj132 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen where the brake line will collapse internally and hold pressure to the caliper. It’s normally on aftermarket braided steel lines that are cheaply made
@emersonb57642 жыл бұрын
Defective brake caliper, or I’ve had many flex hoses between the frame and caliper collapse on the inside causing this. They look normal on the outside. And the flex hose is usually the cheapest and easiest component to replace. It usually only happens on old worn out ones but you never know.

Just a thought on ur breaks I think the issue ur seeing is at the brake booster itself. u used a goe metro booster if I recall correctly, that runs on a very small engine deff not a big v8. Theres a spring that returns the diaphragm inside the booster. More vacuum small spring should equal brakes not wanting to let go
@torbjornkrondahl81162 жыл бұрын
Hi The brake problem you have is probably the brake servo that pulls the main cylinder , if the pedal is slightly of it active the valve and the vacuum pulls the brakes, next time it’s looking try to pull off the hose of the servo and the vacuum valve. I have been in this situation myself.
@Pilot_graaape_452 жыл бұрын
I know this will probably get lost in the comments but I will say it anyways just in case lol. Have you ever looked into an ARB Air Locker for your diff for the drift truck? I was thinking it may be a good option for maintaining street drivability, but on the track you get all the benefits of a welded diff all at the flip of a button. They're really stout too. I have one on my second gen cummins overlanded that probably pushes around 750 torque to the wheels and it can lock the rears and do smokey burnouts even with 37 inch tires. Just food for thought. keep up the great content, Cheers!
