I'm reading his biography at the moment, "Road to Valour" by Aili McConnon & Andres McConnon. Very well written, an enjoyable and well researched read if anybody's interested in learning more about the man.😊

The greatest cyclist ever in my view... STILL holds the record for hill climbing at the TdF!!!!! All done on a 12 speed steel bike!

Un Jerusalem there is a place dedicated to remember "the good ones" that saved lives from the Shoa Schindler, the one depicted in the famous movie, is among them Gino bartali too

We talk about the years Coppi lost to WW2, and it’s true. But he lost his early 20s. Bartali lost his late 20s. And still won 3 Giri, 2 Tours and 7 monuments. As a smoker!

Gino risked it all for strangers....he could have easily disappeared forever in one of Mussolini's detention centers. Incredible story.
