We loved him when he played in Philly! My wife & I went to a game in 2000 when we’re dating. Got to say hi to him when he unfolded himself from his car!!! He was humble to the fans & a major family man with 8 kids. He had 5 sisters, he was the only boy. His parents fostered 32 lucky kids over the years. Gino’s grandfather was killed in 1944 in France during the Second World War. You leave an amazingly positive legacy for us all.

RIP Gino. The Algonquin Assassin always had a smile even when he was beating someone up on the ice. That time he tried to fight Glenn Anderson in a game vs St. Louis and wound up fighting everyone else except Glenn who kept ducking behind the refs while 29 did his best Chippendale stripshow was classic Gino.
