Enjoyed the video, I use to only pick big mature plants..thinking next year I come back the next year only to find that somebody else picked the area clean ! Since than I stated removing all stems from plants I wasn't picking...so other pickers wouldn't take small immature roots

It also has wild ginsaung on it but about 6 or 7 years ago I planted 1800 stratified seeds and I'm going to check it out. It's about time !sept 1st is season here and I hope to do well here in VA.have a great day!

It takes from 18-21 months for the seed to germinate. In the wild it has to be exposed to a season of frost and a season of warmth before it will germinate. To start them at home you have to stratify them in the fridge or something similar or buy seeds that are already stratified.

I hate to see diggers removing plants native to the location the ginseng is growing in. Try to keep the perimeter of your dig site to a minimum. I'll explain that in a moment. I dont know if your just trying to give the camera a better view. That's the only thing i would critique you on . Everything else is perfect! . Im glad to see someone other than me leaving something for someone else, or simply in the idea of letting it grow, re-seed or just getting it next year. When your digging cover up your dig spots, When ginseng poachers enter the woods they can see someone's dig sites for a long way. So try to keep the mentality of leaving each dig site the way you found it. There's some diggers out there, that will ruin it for all of us. I hope you had a great season, and many more great seasons to come!
