Unfortunately, he ended up beating the Shinigami unconscious and brought it home. At the Yorozuya, the shinigami turned out to be a girl named Ikeda Asaemon.

End Spoiler Ahead . . I wanna rant about this arc and the end fight of Gintama. The whole "A demon don't have any right to cut(punish) another demon" thing was so badass. But Asaemon turned into a gag character. No, even less than a gag character. She reappears only to cut Gintoki's nipple. While it is hilarious, she is the successor of the executioner clan AND even Shoyo said something about Gintoki finally became a human. The executioner clan has at least influenced Gintoki, THE PROTAGONIST, to become a better person. Her being treated like a character from an episode, not an entire arc like that pissed me off so much. Literal gag character like Hasegawa and for F○CK sake, Prince F○CKING Hata(the punching bag of this anime) have more use than her! Such a waste of character build. Then again Gintama turned into Assassination Classroom in the end arcs so I don't think I have a critique to add that everybody haven't said about it. Thank you for listening to my TEDtalk.

Asaemon is too much similar to Tsukuyo in appereance. And Tsukuyo has quite a lot of screentime, so…

Asaemon has nothing to do with the "A demon don't have any right to cut(punish) another demon" thing though? That was just between Gintoki and the Former Executioner and was similar to what Shoyo told Gintoki. As for why she had not much to do with the story is because they were introduced right before the story started ramping up a lot (with the SA, FS, Ryoukou, and Silver Soul arcs.) Although they did teaser her and Sachi joining the war, Sorachi probably forgot about her lol. At least they brought her and Sachi back one more time for the semi-final.

@@randomG998BIG SPOILERS FOR AC AND GINTAMA At the end of Gintama, Gintoki had to kill his former teacher, or at least his new personality. In AC, the main character had to kill his teacher, and both of them wanted that to happen

i hate when u said its turn into assassination classroom bc its more complicated and shoyo still alive tho... as long the earth not dying he still alive for ever... do you remember kagura's mother? i love both anime series but for some reason i dont want to compare them... bc they have some unique story... just bc they should kill their teacher so u just said this anime have same end what a d*mb....

light spoilers . rewatching this arc I love that it was subtle but very obvious too that gintoki was especially going out of his way to help asaemon, it hits a lot harder after you learn everything about his past
