Brandi is the Queen of Americana music and just over the past 5 or so years getting the recognition she deserves.

I will also add that everyone MUST watch the live Grammys performance. One of the best Grammys performances ever. She brought the house down. I watched it live on TV and I was not aware of Brandi or her music. I was stunned. I became a fan immediately. She is just incredible.

Brandi is the only singer I’ve ever heard who can make her voice crack on purpose. She’s brilliant.

You really should watch the live version at the Grammys (also on Brandi's official channel). It sounds better. She sings it better. It's just better.😊

Everyone suggests this song or "the story", but her catalog is huge! I recommend you listen to her song "raise hell" or "the eye". Enjoy!

Now you know about Brandi! So much great music from her - an almost bottomless rabbit hole of wondrousness. Watch the live version of this song she did on the Grammys in 2019 that brought the crowd to their feet and has been talked about as one of the best Grammy performances ever. React to The Story, Broken Horses, Highwomen with Brandi - any and all of their songs. KZbin has hundreds of Brandi performances - also with people who have been her fans and she has idolized and now perform together like Joni Mitchell, Elton John, Dolly Parton and more.

And do the live versions. Seriously -- it's almost impossible to really know how insanely good she is until you hear a live performance.

I shared the video because of the powerful visuals. I have seen her live and she rocks! I've also seen the Grammy performance of this song and Broken Horses. I am sharing her music with as many people as I can because I think she is very underrated. I love when people are as struck by her voice as I am.

I love watching Brandi reaction videos. This one is great! If you’ve followed Brandi Carlile - the band, mind you, is also called Brandi Carlile, and she is most often flanked by the Hanseroths. The three of them together is magic. Their song writing, incredible voices and talent as musicians. Watch more. Lots more. Songs Phil and Tim have written, songs she wrote for her wife and daughters. And watch her interviewed some time. She is smart and wise like you won’t believe. And funny! Def watch the Grammy performance. Same song, but fans of theirs know just how big this was for them. Huge. And how nervous she was! Adorable. Love her. Becoming a Brandi Carlile will bring something special to your life. I guarantee it.

As a trans woman going up very closeted this so hot me so hard. Not being able to live, to be myself kept me locked in a tiny box. I never had the courage to " let them spin " . It gives me hope that my younger trans brothers and sisters do have that courage. Be brave, please, like I never was.

Great reaction, GINX. This is one of my absolute favourite songs; thank you, Gwen, for requesting it. As far as the mix goes, I think her voice sits smack in the sweet spot 🙂 With her voice any higher in the mix, I think it would have been too piercing, but that's just me😉 Love from Norway 🇸🇯❤️🇺🇸

This song is wonderful! I think maybe what what was throwing it for me was the type of reverb that was being used….honestly can’t quite pinpoint why my ears where being snobby😅

I enjoyed so much your reaction. So many reactors look at the lyrics as more of a structure to hang music on rather than a passion amplified by the music. I believe you would appreciate the videos of Shoshana Bean singing "She Used to be Mine" from "Waitress". The writer of that score is a singer/songwriter Sarah Bareilles who has written magnificent songs. Her song "Brave" would be a great introduction.
