To be fair to the artists he is covering, he is playing their lyrics on the guitar, and guitars playing lyrics, just sounds cool. But in reality if they did that in the song, you wouldn't be able to hear the lyrics.

7:40 Yeah you're right, Kurt definitely wasn't a star guitarist. In fact, it's a running joke in the guitar playing community that once you learn how to play power chords you can play every Nirvana song lol. But that's definitely the charm of Grunge. It's SUPPOSED to sound amateurish. Mr. Doooo did a fantastic job, but it would sound like they randomly got Steve Vai to come in if they played that good in the original and it would ruin the overall tone imo lmao 😂

A little background for you. TheDooo HATES playing Thunderstruck, because of the frequency with which it is requested. He has made numerous comments about it in past videos. He even has a segment where he trashes people that mispronounce it when requesting it. The list is quite extensive, with probably two dozen different butchered versions of Thunderstruck (Thunderstrike, Thunderbirds, etc.) . It's not a particularly challenging lick for him to play, or really anyone that picks up a guitar.

@@sG-jy4tiThat isn’t true. You can see zero recognition in the eyes of the requesters that ask for that. They actually go black and think of the “hardest” song they can imagine to play on guitar. Little do they know it isn’t that difficult for a guitarist that has above average skills. Don’t get it twisted, 80% of guitarists can’t play that song. Just because you [understood] can play Wonderwall, Wish You Were Here and other cheesy chords songs doesn’t mean you can crank that song out.
