I look at all the comments against Risti and can't help but feel a bit of sadness - I came to watch this fight expecting a lucky punch but no Riste came to fight, pushed Petrosyan back a couple of times, definately put up a good fight and won the fight. He then went on to beat Van Roosmalen, Hollenbeck and a few other masterful kickboxers - so why are you all crying fowl? It's a freaking fight. He never packed his gloves. He cut out the thumb to allows dexterity inside the glove. Just wanna note as well that this action is common in Holland, so the trainer must've done it subconsciously because of a lack of experience fighting outside. There should be hard semi plastic groin cover for jingles taped to body under shorts. So even in case of direct kick it would not affect fighter. It would not restrain fighter cause it would be relatively small (just balls and dong) and elastic on sides to allow kicks and whatever. I've seen so many times fight goes decided after one or even 3 balls kicks (yes Remy Bonjasky got 3 kicks in groin once and was wasted in fight).
