Sale had a slightly lower ERA and 3 less strikeouts in 15 less innings, that and all the stuff Marc listed Sale had a higher ERA+ and in 2 less games had just .1 less WAR Sale was better, not by a whole lot, but he was better

Skubal was very, very good and I am very much willing to say he will be better than Sale next year, but THIS year Sale was better, also 15 innings is 2+ starts, that is definitely worth something and had Sale made the start the Braves decided to let him skip at the end of the year he would have higger WAR, more K's and if he allowed 1 or less runs would have had an even lower ERA, Sale was better

It’s absolutely insane, and this is coming from a diehard Yankees fan that wants to say judge is the gospel and that’s it. Baseball has gotten SO top heavy right now though - there are not a lot of upper tier level players but I feel like there are more replacement level +/- players in starting spots than ever.
