The variation in measurements is due to the cause of random error... We can reduce random error by taking average after repeating the experiment. When the number of observation increase by n times the random error decrease by n times. This happens because when we repeat the observation .,there is more chance to get our measured value close to the true value . And taking average of a particular set of measurements tends to fall in area where there is more measurements is present. That's y it is said tht when observation increase by n times.
