Use that dell money to get yourself a decent computer. Dell has a habit of participating in that whole "Planned obsolescence" movement that tech companies love to peddle. It's like the lulu-lemon-mlm-ey take-advantage-of-your-audience-for-all-theyve-got kinda vibes that dell gives off. I know not to purchase from them from taking into account people's experiences since people are so willing to help on the internet. Also, my friend had his dell for about 2 years when the computer started with it's issues, literally a month or so after the warranty was up. You should be able to expect a lifespan that should be comparable to the investment for the product, yet these companies are pulling the wool over our eyes. Gotta love the US and brittain, always willing to dance with the devil and forgetting all the details. The sponsers are really the only ones who gain in this hellhole of a world.

The whole thing of "quit your job, start a business, become an influencer" is, as you mentioned, leaving out a lot of the privilege these people had, a good following already, inherited wealth, and I'd like to add it's also ableist. Especially here in the US, where access to healthcare is tied to your job, leaving the security of whatever mediocre health insurance a desk job can offer you is just not possible, public options are trash, and some can reject you for your current health condition. Like I can see parallels and overlap in the examples you give: are there financial barriers from structural inequity that are prohibitive, is the workplace hostile (even unintentionally), is there flexibility in the approach to work that can accommodate a variety of lifestyles (like I'm really lucky I can take a day off whenever I need but for someone with kids they can't do a lot of the travel that's required). It really annoys me how people attempt to gloss over women's moral shortcomings in the name of "feminism". Yes, so-and-so female politician is a woman succeeding in one of THE most male-dominated spaces, but... we should still hold her to the same standards we hold other politicians. Women aren't angels just because we're women; we owe it to ourselves and the people around us to try to do good unto others. However, many people take the "we must hold everyone accountable for their actions regardless of sex" argument so far the other way that they just end up bashing female politicians simply because they're women (as we *all* know and have seen before), placing much greater criticism upon their actions while supporting and praising (often white) male politicians who may have done the exact same thing or worse. Women are either seen as perfect angels--sugar, spice, and everything nice, with goodness flowing forth from ye lady bits--or evil b*tches who don't belong in politics because *clearly* this one instance of a female leader being incompetent or cruel proves that government is a *man's* job and that women should stay out of politics. This automatic labelling of women who dare to be powerful as "b*tches" is part of why I feel like we're all so reluctant to criticize female leaders, even when they make transgressions--both minor and major. Yes, they should be held accountable for their actions just as a male politician should, but... we can't ignore that women are often criticized more harshly for behaving in nearly the same way as men. Gosh, it certainly is a struggle! I never know where to begin with topics like this.

To be fair, the Nordic approach to prostitution is based on the assumption that most sex workers are not themselves deciding to sell sex. This is also not an unreasonable assumption since sex trafficking is a HUGE industry. So, I don't agree that 30 minutes of research will tell you that criminalising sex work is bad actually, it is a very complex issue regardless of your moral stance on selling sex.

Would also like to add how girlboss culture and overall societal pressure to be an entrepreneur is incredibly ableist, as it fits right into the capitalist mindset of people not having value unless they are as productive and efficient as possible. It can make it even harder to have genuine self-worth if you physically or mentally can't keep that up or have to go against what is safe and healthy for you in order to do so.

I think girl boss feminism is very tied to the girl power movement that so many of us grew up with in the 90s/2000s. So many young girls were told “you can do anything!” but weren’t encouraged to choose a specific skill or passion. and now we have a situation where so many women think they need to start their own companies to be accomplished, and often these companies have extremely vague goals because being an “entrepreneur” is encouraged more than actually contributing something useful. I always find myself wondering what the end goal of “empowerment” (which has become a marketing term) actually is now

There are examples that shows that decriminalization and legalization of sex work are unfortunately not the solution, look at the Germany case for instance.

I'm a feminist and try to be aware of the biases I have so I can actively work against them. I just found your channel, saw two videos of yours and now have to admit that you called out misogynistic biases that I wasn't aware I had. Especially when it comes to "girly girls" since I don't know/knew many "girly girls" personally but the ones I did know always fitted the stereotype. So I'm happy that you not only call out those biases but that you by just being yourself help defeat some of those biases I have.

I want to be an enteprenour not to be a girl boss, and not because I look down upon people who work 9-5 jobs bit because I am chronically ill and I know that holding a regular job with a schedule will be hard for me. Let's stop looking down on people who work a "regular job", a lot of the time I wish I could have their stability.

Interesting points you raise regards Thatcher/Harris, and how reducing people to their gender causes you to gloss over their negative behaviour. This is why I'm hoping we, as a society, can move past all this collectivist nonsense that's dominating culture at the moment. We need to stop evaluating people on surface level characteristics and assigning privilege/virtue points accordingly, and instead look at qualities that actually reflect a person's character. It's a curious pattern I've noticed. Collectivism leads to intersectionality, which ultimately leads to individualism. Hopefully this process can be accelerated in the general zeitgeist but if anything it seems we're moving in the wrong direction.
