Hello and good morning, when I tow broken down vehicles I use a 3 metre length of pipe with a ring welded on 1 end and a shackle welded on the other end and a short length of 12mm chain , this can wrap around sharp steel edges and not cut the pipe also stops the vehicle from running into the back of the towing vehicle, it also enables you to push the broken vehicle backwards into a shed or workshop easily
