Guitarversum Sandra Sherman I've been playing with Autumn Leaves for quite a while now. Chords and melody. I've watched various youtube teachers and I've never managed to play a chord melody arrangement (or create one for that matter) from start to finish for the song. Also as a side note most of them weren't as nice as yours. To be fair I wasn't very dedicated but you managed to get me to do just that in under one hour. Now I'm not playing it perfectly(i have to improve the speed and the rhythm) but it's a lot more than I ever did. So yeah. From my perspective I subscribe to the OP's opinion and thank you.

Sich a joy to hear you profit from the lessons. The way you work on them is perfect. Just repeat certain movements and go slowly but steady. This way you also memorize the song better (then always playing the whole tune).

For anybody already fingerstyle-proficient, this arrangement lends itself pretty well (with just a few chord-shape modifications) to adding in the traditional bossanova bassline on the E and A with the thumb for playing it unaccompanied.

Hi Sandra, It was by chance that I found you while surfing the internet. Your "Girl From Ipanema" lesson caught my eye so I gave it a listen and then purchased it. From what I have observed you are an EXCELLENT+ teacher. The way you explain things is concise and easy to follow. Your reference to the theory in the lesson is not overbearing or confusing. I loved your quick reference to the Gb7bV as the tritone substitute for the tune but also referring to it as F#7b5,,,,It's helpful in nudging my slow thought process. My theory is weak and I do appreciate a teacher that points things out like "Here's a secondary dominant taking us to a ll-V of the next chord and quickly explaining it and how to learn more about it. Online lessons for the most part can't compare with 1-on-1 but yours a top notch. I will now consider you my jazz guru. You tube has some good teachers but I find most of the jazz instructors like to over complicate things. You have a gift. Thank you! Best regards, Kenneth Harper Vacaville, Ca.

Yo conocí este canal hace una semana y desde entonces he aprendido más de jazz que en meses y meses de búsqueda de material, el cual siempre terminaba siendo un "enganche" para que compres algo. En cambio Sandra te da una clase completa y en serio!

Thank you for your videos. I have been playing guitar since 65, when I bought a Sears Silvertone and drove my parents crazy playing "LIttle Red Rooster" over and over. But Jazz guitar has always remainedsomething that was a mystery to me.

Like others, I've struggled to get this song learned. Thank you for breaking this down slowly. Finally decided to make an effort to learn the notes of the fretbaord. Glad the intro is on some notes I recognize. I'm 63, and it's been slow going learning the notes.
