Honestly, there are people who'd kill for those positions. Waitresses and waiters of fine dining restaurants can make and destroy the place and they're in really high prestige. There is no chef in the world who can make food which is good enough to excuse a bad or mediocre waiter, but an excellent waiter can lift mediocre food to an entirely new level. When going to a restaurant, the atmosphere is a VERY major part of your dining experience. I think it's funny though how on one side those stories always have morals of "All jobs are equally important" but as a sign of dropping down to the lowest, they also use either the position of the janitor or waiter.

Judging by the wealth of the manager and the atmosphere, we're talking about a high-end restaurant (given that she couldn't identify the dessert as food, it might even be a fine dining restaurant). Her personal prestige will skyrocket and if the cultural location of the restaurant even slightly resembles western European cultures (specifically France and Germany) (which I assume because the manager took the protagonist to a flight to Paris in a helicopter, so I guess they're very close to Paris), she can earn one hell of a lot of money in tips on top of her very VERY decent salary (if it's fine dining, up to $76,500 annually). She can make WAY more money in this job than she could have ever dug before this. Not to mention that she now is the social connection between a very fine restaurant and its high-end guests. She's right at the source of money and future prey for a lot of high end gold digging. And if she wants to, as a waitress she's in EXACTLY the position to end the restaurants reputation with a few well calculated miss-steps (in case she at some point wants to take revenge). Honestly, in the whole video she's the one who came out on top in the end. Looking at it from a rational perspective, she got exactly what benefits her the most (and by her, I mean HER. NOT her personality).

Manager was a good man with a good heart.
