I think real empowerment is doing what you want without arbitrary social restrictions that apply to one group over another. This means being overly sexual, prude, or whatever you feel like without being shamed. The problem comes when being overly sexual is promoted without proper education about potential consequences.

I agree. People can do what they want, but the lying and deflection about what each life style entails is the problem. Women aren’t any less valuable just because they aren’t virgins, and women aren’t more free or liberated just because they sleep around. Where I’m from hypersexuality was pushed on us from a young age, so I’m always a bit harder on the casual sex girlies because I’ve witnessed the stds, baby mommas, etc that this life style produced just on my street and it was not pretty. I have choice words for the purity girlies too, but it’s too much to get into. Essentially, I hope girls/women will take the time to seriously consider what life they want, review the pros and cons, and go for it, but also know that they can always go back tot he drawing board. That’s why we see hypersexual people having periods of celibacy, and purity people working on accepting that sex is a natural part of life.

That's an entirely different talk tho. The point is: the biological imperative is real. Showing a lack of discipline before it, for either sex, leads to disastrous results.

Claims such as yours must be backed by extensive scientific studies, otherwise the default position should be there's no provable negative effects in terms of being sexually liberal causing trauma. As for being shamed, this changes from one society to another. Some countries will shame women for not wearing black from head to toe, and some women grew up to feel ashamed for wearing otherwise. Does that mean it's shameful when they don't wear all black? I think the logic doesn't apply to a lot of situations and therefore is invalid.
