7:52 Effects like Quick Barrier (reduce 60% of incoming damage) and Suomi's Winter Bastion (reduce 30%) are only active for one instance of damage, so Legend of the Guardians allows you to bypass them for more damage. Same thing with stability, if the the 1st hit breaks stability it'll leave them unprotected for the 2nd. It's also worth thinking about crit here. Her 130% attack will be better amplified than one of 2 70% attacks (though ofc she could crit with the 10% too...) It's a subtle effect, but there are a couple upsides. EDIT: After thinking about it overnight, I'm not sure how it interacts with Quick Barrier and Winter Bastion, as in, do they block both hits of the attack or only the first? Hard part is that both need to be tested in PVP (Suomi shouldn't be too hard to find, but there's no breakable cover from what I remember). The interaction with stability does work the way I described though. From a game design standpoint though, it would be sad if this niche interaction doesn't work this way because it would make the ability less remarkable.

5:36 You're either mistaken or misspoke about the proximity conditional on Friend of Justice. The skill measures whether there are enemies within 3/4 tiles of Nagant, not of her target. You even demonstrate it firing against the Rushbat with a Thorn precisely 3 tiles away at 5:40. The tooltip could definitely be more clear about this.

Diagonal ranges aren't halfed, the shortest way isn't over the corner, but crossing the side of the square and moving like a rook in chess would. I.e. to go to the top-left direction you go up and left (2 steps to get to the closest square, instead of 1) or left and up.

While you are totally right about that, what I really mean when I say "diagonal ranges are halved" I'm referring specifically to perfect diagonals (one tile up/down and one tile left/right). What I probably should have said is "direct diagonal" or "perfect diagonals"

​@@KansaiDorito You're correct in the video. I didn't mean that you're wrong about it being halfed, just that there's an alternate way to look at it and to explain it I guess. And I forgot to say it but I think it's often better to implement movement on a grid system like that or you'd be too incentiviced to always go diagonally, since that's a larger distance visually. I like your video series, since it's kind of easy to lose track of what characters actually do with all their abilities. This kind of video seems like a better approach to understand this game than an ranking by maximum damage output like so many do. In part I find it sad if people boil a complex and interesting game such as this and quite a few other gacha games down to a single metric and disregard other aspects like fun, strategy and personal choice. I think it's fine when characters aren't euqal (especially in campaign/PvE), but if a character is so good and older characters of the same role are never updated, which happens in some games, I think that's sad. I'd rather people choose characters more voluntarily. A character shouldn't be the solution to the game. A stretegy should be the solution. Otherwise the combat-related gameplay becomes about selecting a character, clicking go and that's it. The game is also about story, music, the setting, the visuals and the charcters (outside of gameplay, in the plot or in the dorm). (I'd be surprised if the game were only clearable with the theoretical best DPS characters and not basically everyone as long as you use a good strategy and micromanage your skills correctly.) I used to interpret tier lists as solutions where only the s-rank would allow me to continue in GF 1, so I skipped many events. In hindsight I could propably have cleared a lot more with trial and error or by using really high level fairys. But what's done is done.

It's worth noting that Qiongjiu's Defense Down 2 from her fixed key Targeted Training does not stack with Nagant's Acid Corrosion 2. Additionally Nagant's Acid Corrosion 2 overrides Qiongjiu's Defense Down 2 entirely, not that it matters since they're both 30%. The next best thing is just popping her 4th skill for that Vulnerability which funny enough Qiongjiu's Targeted Training makes it super easy to meet the condition. I was hoping the defense debuffs would stack since I run Nagant as my 5th member because waifu but oh well.

Two questions 1. Can you make a Qiongjiu guide? I really like her and want to learn how to maximize her damage. 2. I notice you don’t start with Soumi ult. I was under the impression that you always want to start with Soumi ult when you go into fights due to all the stat buffs and shielding.

I use QJ WAY too much to not get a full guide on her, but I'm gonna try and get some of the more requested characters out of the way before getting to her. Starting with Suomi ult is only really necessary if you don't have her 1st dupe. I was lucky enough to get her twice in a 10 pull, and usually only ult after someone has taken damage to take advantage of the increased heal.
