Also one of the things I’ve learned about intimacy: a huge red flag is when the other person is obsessed with the concept of virginity. I used to talk to this guy and he kept asking me about if I was a virgin and why I was a virgin. I was so innocent at that time that I didn’t really think about it that much. But now that I’m more experienced I’ve learned that this kind of behavior is actually a warning sign that if the guy/girl compromises your relationship to the concept of virginity STAY AWAY. Virginity is not what makes you you. And your sexuality isn’t tied to virginity don’t make anyone think it is

my first boyfriend at 19 was a christian and obsessed with me being a pure virgin (he had already had sex before lmao). i slept with him 5 months into the relationship, and he and his family proceeded to treat me like a whore (his mom called me jezebel, aka the "temptress" from the bible who got torn apart by dogs). it was so confusing and humiliating for my first ever sexual experience. a good, mature partner will ONLY care about your sexual history to know if you're clean/healthy. ❤️

Me too. I'm 24 and exactly the same thing as you are. All of my friends and most boys I meet get so surprised/aghast when I admit that I don't even want to even think about relationships/sex at this point yet. Some even accused me of being gay because of it. Like there's nothing wrong with being gay but I think it's wrong to associate a person with a certain sexuality just because she/he doesn't express obvious admiration for other people. It’s very comforting to hear you say you were uncomfortable with intimacy for a long time. I’m a bit older than you and I still get uncomfortable with the thought- heck I even hate being naked around myself it’s just weird to me. Not in an immature way I just personally don’t feel comfortable with the thought of doing anything with anyone and seeing someone as confident and beautiful as you say that- made me feel less alienated! period sex is not the safest (obviously you can do it if you want to), you can get more infections and it is more important be safe from infections first :) and EVEN if you're on your period, you still can get pregnant (the chances are low tho), so always wear protection

I think the biggest problem with "virginity" is that we are grown into thinking it's something soo special, and you have to be so perfectly sure about it, and trust the person etc. Of course all these are true, but if we become obsessed with these ideas, we will never feel ready. In the end, it is not such a big deal, it doesn't matter who that person will be (as long as you want them), it is just a stage that you have to go through, and then it doesn't matter anymore, it doesn't have to be that special, it creates so much anxiety for nothing (and it's not even that good tbh :P)

Hi! Just wanted to pop in to say that the pill doesn’t totally stop your period! You can take hormones constantly on a 28 day cycle and it CAN end your period OR you can take the pill on a 21 day hormone cycle with a 7 day placebo/iron pill week where you do get your period on the “off week”! You can still get your period that way on the pill! Great vid!

13:55 this is not completely true, it is very unlikely to get pregnant if you practice intercourse while being on your period, but, still, your menstrual cycle can be messed up and release an egg at the same time as you are bleeding (low probability, but possible) Plus, STIs still make sex unsafe, not only pregnancy risk

FAM is non hormonal method too. It takes more time to understand your body completely. Super healthy, fascinating to learn about body, non hormonal, and it teaches how to determine decease w/o doctor. Just wanted to share my copper IUD. I’ve only had it 3 months but apart from a few days of bleeding after it was first inserted I’ve had totally normal periods every month. Cramps have been slightly worse but nothing too bad! It does definitely depend on the person as Luna said

I got the IUD Mirena and yes the insertion was so painful but after the first 2 days it was the best decision, no weight gain, haven't had a period in 4 years, no pain during sex, and no cramps besides the first week of insertion. i would get this one because the inception is so painful, then its better to have in there longer!!! Highly recommend

I went on a pill for my skin. The two main side effects were that my boobs went from a B cup to a DD, my periods became actually bearable and the oestrogen made me get squeamish/motion sick much more easily.
