A few inches of pea gravel and a then a few inches of sand under the bricks help ensure proper drainage and a drier environment for the wood. Certainly not a necessity. Similarly using rubber grommet for the nails/screws in the roof. Again, just an added bonus to prevent leaks.

Love your creativity, energy, and willingness to re-use old materials. You look like you're getting great enjoyment from working together and that's awesome! This was a great project... the only thing I think I'd have done differently is to anchor the building to the ground (maybe you don't get bad storms like where I'm from) and filled in around the bricks with concrete/lime dust to help lock them together. But what a great woodshed!
