Actually except from that lady squatting extremely narrow, most of the exercises aren't that bad for your back. Some people still do these same exercises today, albeit much heavier now, even the modern day gym woman lifts more weight in dumbbell press than all of the weights in the video combined. They were lifting a lot lighter maybe just focusing on form.
