So when a caterpillar is in the cocoon, the transformation process involves it turning into a sort of soup. I literally dissolves into liquid, and then becomes a butterfly. The cocoon’s main purpose is to keep all the “soup” in one place.

It’s kinda insane that a caterpillar can just melt themselves down and put themselves back together as a different creature. Like, how does the goo even know how to reform itself into a butterfly or moth? Also, new planet?! And nobody flipping told me?

Something I imagined was if instead of a butterfly it was a moth and when she comes back the listener is eating a piece of clothing or some fabric.

Well, human in the cocoon concept was pretty deeply explored in Starcraft series. The effect wasn't exactly butterfly but tbh, some semblance of wings was present.

The fact that Butterfly's basically melt themselves in the cocooning process just makes me think that A inside we were basically a slime (aka jelly that can somehow think) and B themat the remaining jelly coating afterwards was basically just liquid caterpillar fat given how chubby most caterpillars are in comparison to their butterfly forms

Depends on the moth E.g. many moths lose their mouths when they change But there are some that don't like if I wanted to be a mothgirl I'd choose the Death's head hawk moth, big (for a moth) dark colours and skull on the back for a goth look and a proboscis that can drink honey like a straw and make absolutely adorable squeaking noises Like seriously listen to one it's like a dog toy TLDR: Hawkmoth girls are goths but are extremely cute when they try to act tough

Our wings haven't pumped up yet, right? You can't quite tell what we are yet? I'm totally an Ichneumon wasp, you were sleeping and a giant ichneumon wasp bored a hole underneath me and deposited an egg. (Great fun, before someone points out that moths form cocoons, not butterlfies, I'm gonna prenerd them and point out butterflies are just a singular branch of the macromoth clade anyways)
