2022 and still listening and loving them...........

there's no plausible reason for these guys been kept nearly anonymous for so long, this album is huge.
@Plastiquesmile016 жыл бұрын
They were always big in a cult way but its probably been to their detriment that you can't find their records in the shops. That's definitely kept them (too much) under the radar.

You're right, but there's so many bands these days that should be HUGE, but distribution and production is so screwed up by all the corps with money, it's safer to produce your own stuff or go with a smaller label

After reading one of Moby's books I learned that he and the GVSB drummer were/are good friends and he does drums or was supposed to at least on _Animal Rights_ Thought that was interesting given the sheer difference of musical style.

I still think GvsB were one of the best bands of the era. They just had a cool vibe, sounded like nobody else in the scene, and it still holds up today.

It's hard to find any other band that executed a sound like this so well. Dischord records hit another homerun when they signed these guys.

Was lucky enough to get black eyes dancing to 'Wilmington' at club when young enough not to care! Only girl on dancefloor for Bulletproof Cupid coz no one would play them in Wales!! Boring people!!!(Jesus I make myself sound old and I'm only 80)

HAPPY DAYS. I fucking loved this album back in the mid90s. It still holds up. kinda jazzy grunge? These guys and Morphine (the band, but also, you know...) would have been a great double bill.

oh my god that would have been a bass-gasm

Through the music coming across my playlists at the time I was getting an audio vicarious view of heroin use. There were so many horror side of hron movies at the time I was never even tempted. Found out later in life that a good portion of the xtcy I took contained heroin and cocaine. so much for no hrd drgz.

I’ve played the ever-loving shit out of Venus Luxe, and only recently ventured to other albums, expecting them to be far inferior. Man, was I wrong. Love all their output almost equally now.
