Yeah I have no problem with brutal honesty at times, it can be rather healthy but it's always easier to be the ones throwing out "brutally honest opinions" than to be receiving end of them, so if they were to get defensive and dismissive if any of the groups here were to say similiar things about them, it would prove their hypocrisy. I think it's telling how huge the disconnect between UK viewers and the rest of the world is regarding to Girls Aloud because when they throw some "shade" here a lot of the responses go along the lines of "who the fuck do these nobodies think they are?!" while British already seem to have an instant "this is where they're coming from" response, be it in a positive or negative light. I mean I like Girls Aloud quite a bit, for as a non-brit was introduced to when I was living in London a little while after their peak, and were the Pussycat Dolls ever meant to be taken that seriously? Anyways I still do get that they can come across as a bit of a No-Name, Huge Ego for much of the world (though this was made for UK tv so I don't think that really applies to those who saw the original clip) and this video can feel a bit pile-on with the negativity at times, maybe a bit On-A-High-Horse but not really that vicious. It just seems here you can kind of see how the dynamics of group are being set in stone, three close friends fearlessly chatting away and the two professionals awkwardly smiling in the background, a bit distant from it all.

The girl on the first row next to Cheryl on the left literally made up an entire backstory on why Nicole’s the lead vocal on PCD. The other girls weren’t brought on to back up Nicole and then form PCD. PCD is a burlesque group from the 90s that turned to a girl group in 2000s and that’s why Nicole’s the lead vocal because it’s supposed to have the club/ burlesque vibe with 2000s pop music songs on their album and it obviously worked. But clearly overtime this concept became hard for the girls because then it turned into the Nicole show 24/7 with each hit single. And Melody who auditioned and was brought on as another vocalist barely sang. But that’s another story. The point is she needs to do research before spreading lies to the media.

I liked Girls Aloud and PCD but looking back this interview is rather ironic. Cheryl talked about how she hated reunions and Nicola talked about how bands fall out, slag each other off and then get back together. Girls Aloud went on a long hiatus, got back together for a short time and it was very clear that there were two camps in the band. The only thing I never liked about Cheryl was her need to constantly slag off certain female artists and groups i.e. PCD, All Saints, Lily Allen, Spice Girls etc..

Why is everyone getting on their high horse?? They didn't slag All Saints off at all... They were just confused about the whole reunion of all these groups at the time. As for PCD, what they said was entirely true. it's essentially Nicole as a solo artist but because people knew she wouldn't be as good on her own they threw in 5 other girls to make it a 'group' even though they don't sing. How else do you explain it!

And I bet most of the people bitching "who are these girls?" are American, and not taking into account that Pussycat Dolls etc. weren't anything like such a big noise in the UK. Which this interview was recorded for. A UK audience, who all knew Girls Aloud as a HUGELY successful group.

I find it hilarious how people say "oh, what right does Cheryl have to talk about other people's singing when she can't sing herself" because that's basically what we do all day. We sit behind our computers and write comments and blogs and articles about the rise and fall of pop artists just because we have an opinion, but it's not like we have ever actually done what they do. Also Girls Aloud is a pretty consistent girl group. Say what you want about them individually or whatever but they broke the mold of girl groups. Ten years and they're still together, their music charts consistently, and they can perform. There have been other girl groups before them and there will be girl groups after them, but there will never be another group quite like Girls Aloud. #icantwaitfortheirnewmusic

Why are you hating on Cheryl? She only said, that she didn't hear anybody sing from the PCD, only Nicole and Melody(who she finds annoying). They all agree, that Nicole is really talented. I don't think that anybody should compare them. They are both successful and great performers.
