This performance was right after a member was kicked out of the group. Singing a ballad version of their debut song in their dream venue but not being able to make it with all 9 members was very heartbreaking. This performance hurt my heart every time I see it

The reason they were tearing up was that right before the concert, Jessica (9th member of GG) was kicked out of the group. And it was their dream to perform in Tokyo Dome as OT9 but in the concert, Jessica wasn't with them anymore to share that dream. It's a pretty emotional performance not just for the girls but for SONEs as well. It was a very heartbreaking moment for everyone.

The other 8 members stood on the Tokyo dorm where is the dream of these girls, but sadly, only 8 members achieved their dream, so when they sang their debut song, these girls cried. A member got kicked out of the group and up to this day, the real reason behind the incident is still a mystery (a huge controversy in kpop history since we all know GG is the top girl group). Lots of conspiracy here and there. This was their first concert as 8 members and the first time singing their debut song in Ballad. Tokyo Dome was their dream venue to hold a concert and one is missing. 😭

The reason Jessica got removed is pretty common knowledge, actually. She wasn't doing her job to SM's or the rest of SNSD's satisfaction and got relieved of her duties for it. Both Jessica's and SM's statements say the same thing.

Jessica says that SM and the rest of SNSD told her repeatedly that she wasn't doing her job to their satisfaction. Jessica didn't have anything to prove to us at all. The only people she had to prove it to were SM and the rest of SNSD. She obviously failed to do that.

Into The New World is basically the most memorable song for Girls' Generations and to their fans (SONE) imo aside from this is their debut song back 2017. This performance was at their first concert back 2014 as an 8-member group. Into the new world also was first performed as ballad because generally this is actually a pop-dance song. So this song will be forever emotional and too painful especially for the fans because apart it is already in ballad and first live as 8 members, as you can see each member literally cried. Showing not just the fans were hurting but also the group, well because they've been together since they're teenagers, grew up together, trained together and debuted together. Adding fuel to the fire, also during 2014, when it was announced that they would no longer be a 9-member group, it was rumored that Taeyeon kicked Jessica out of the group which was really absurd imo. But yeah, that's the backstory. All is well now, all the girls are happy. Fans moved on, accepted what happened but continuously supporting Girls' Generation and Jessica. 8 in our eyes but forever 9 in our hearts. Thank you for this awesome reaction video, TriFate! You've got to watch the MV for Into The New World. It came out in 2007 and the song is now used as an anthem for protests in South Korea. Iconic, to say the least. This song is literally the benchmark for all debuting girl groups. Red Velvet, Twice, Gfriend and IOI covered the song as a group a few years ago. Probably its most exciting cover.

this is the saddest concert i have ever seen. this concert they have prepared in the middle of 2014 with 9 members. but unfortunately 30 September 2014 jessica was expelled from snsd and had an impact on the schedule and activities of snsd and jessica. if you watch this concert from start to finish you will see that the eight members didn't really enjoy it that much maybe because this was the first time a concert with 8 members. into the new world itself is their debut song with 9 members. I think if there were 9 of them at this concert maybe there wouldn't be into the new world ballad or even if there were it wouldn't be so sad. since jessica's departure from snsd, snsd never brought into the new world with the original version.

"Into the New World" is Girls Generation's first single. And they're being emotional I guess because it's the first time they sang it without the 9th member, Jessica. There used to be 9 of them. The video of the little girls talking are.their audition videos back when they were kids coz they started training for that group during that age. I wish you watched their live video of this song that have 9 members in it. It's way different coz the original tempo of this song is upbeat and not sentimental. You'll be amazed by their dance steps too, specially the ballet twirl on the intro of the song. And Jessica is the one in the front most center of the video that I'm talking about.
