IGAB is known as the Bohemian Rhapsody of K-pop. This song was HUGE, even though alot of people couldn't make sense of it because it was so ahead of its time. It's kind of the predecessor of Red Velvet's Zimzalabim and Aespa's Next Level. BTW:There is a reason why SNSD is mooted as the greatest girl group to ever appear in the history kpop because their ability to come up with bangers again and again even after all these years is uncannily consistent. Their diversity across just their title tracks alone is astounding.

I love Girls' Generation. I first got into them back in 2010 or 2011, listened to them a lot in high school, and I have lots of their merchandise. So crazy it's been as long as it has and they just celebrated their 15th anniversary a few months ago. They really are a big deal. When it comes to popularity and influence, they're basically East Asia's equivalent of the Spice Girls. They were absolutely huge in the late 2000's and the first half of the 2010's. They're still a household name today!

Girls Generation (SNSD) is incredible. This video won KZbin's inaugural "KZbin Music Awards Song of the Year" in 2013. This is probably the most loved girl group from K-Pop's second generation... And I think the rivalry between labels SM, JYP, and YG was really solidified in this generation. JYP had Wonder Girls, and YG had 2NE1 (also on the boys side there was competition between labels). The song itself is really interesting, the change ups keep the song interesting, and their live stages for this song were always impressive. The girls are all talented, and as you pointed out the singers are top-tier. The acoustic song you referred to... I think that was Sistar (4 members), not SNSD if I'm not mistaken. I haven't seen all your K-Pop reactions yet, but I think you may be confusing those. Loving your dip into K-Pop... it's a broad and deep genre.

I'm guessing you are right about the Sistar/SNSD mistake, given that SNSD has a vocal line of 5 members, and then of course the trio sub-unit TTS...so 4 SNSD members singing acoustic just doesn't their history ( or fit in with my 2 terabyte SNSD archive) ,

Ty so much! Yes GG, Girls Generation known for vocals and concepts! So much talent in one group! Great reaction! There was no you tube or internet coverage when they began, 2007 so a lot of their numbers are deceptive. This mv won Best mv for 1st You Tube awards, beating out Miley Cyrus, Lady GaGa and Justin Bieber.

This song was known as "The Bohemian Rhapsody of KPop" because of the changes in the beat and music. They released this in 2013 and it immediately broke records on misoc charts and it also started a massive shift in the trends in the Kpop industry.

For context it was released same year as Gangam Style and you can still clearly feel that music era through it. All SNSD track is still so iconic.

No, it wasn't released the same years as "Gangam Style". That was in 2012. "I Got A Boy" was 2013.

@@NomadFlow yes you are right, it just I Got A Boy was released Jan 1st 😂 They had prerelise in december why I had mixed that up. It still was in a span of few months between those songs and was recorded in that period of 2012.
