when soshi debuted (2007), the kpop industry was dominated by boy groups such as Bigbang, SuperJunior and TVXQ. So soshi got a lot of hate for being close with SuperJunior and TVXQ since they somewhat grew up together and are REALLY close friends. Soshi even got boycotted by fans of boy groups. But through their talent and good characters they could break that and because of them more girl groups debuted.

I really like you-two! I only show up on your Channel for SNSD reactions, but what I REALLY LIKE about you is that clearly you are artists yourselves, and that you communicate your passion not just for singing, or dancing, but for the overall performance, and your understanding of the nuances that make a real performance, as opposed to just a reproduction of an MV or studio track. While you naturally mention vocals and visuals, you also talk about sound, staging, rehearsal, lighting, and the technical details involved, and the effort of performing and the energy and reward received from a live audience's reaction. AND you talk about the 'pop' or music industry in general, and in historical context as well. In short, technically I don't know much about music and singing, but I think I can recognize those who do, and those who translate their passion into actual performance, and who can provide a truly informed perspective on what for me, is just a pleasure to witness and enjoy, with far less thought and concious comprehension. I guess the bottom line is, that as much as I appreciate SNSD, you have a deeper appreciations of them than I . And a deeper appreciations of those who AREN'T SNSD too---because, your knowledge and passion both for the craft AND the art...and the context of performance. The first girl group I stanned. Seeing them with their colourful jeans back in 2009 while I was so young made me want to be like them. Such a trip down memory lane. Now they’re doing their own thing, pursuing drama, solos, musicals and fashion. I’m very proud to say that I’m a SONE. SNSD really changed the game back then. Young girls going into an industry dominated by males and getting hate because they were women were just so empowering. Hopefully, there’s something for us in August :) (their anniversary) The girls have been teasing so...maybe!

Girls' Generation debuted with 2 main vocalists, Taeyeon and Jessica. These 2 had the best harmonizing voice, you can hear it with their songs from 2007 - 2014 (up until Jessica was still in the group). Girls' Generation is also a super vocal group, their dance line and rap line can sing well.

Wish you get to know more of them and their journey...stans say this all the time but they truly were a cultural reset, a cultural phenomenom they are called the text book for kpop. They won against boygroups when people didn't think girl groups could be as successful.The first and only female act to win the Album Daesang(Disk Daesang,album of the year). They held the record of more wins on music shows for a long time even though back then there werent as many music shows as nowadays. Gee was the most popular 2000s song on melon even though it was released in 2009. First Korean celebrity to have official postage stamps distributed by the Korea Post. Into the New World was back in 2007 so 13 going on 14 years. They were between 17-19 years old back then. Eldest Taeyeon, Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon & Yuri born in 1989; Sooyoung & Yoona born in 1990 and youngest Seohyun in 1991. Back then the biggest bands were all BOY GROUPS. SNSD changed the name with their debuted and Gee from a boy world to unisex. They remain the only girl group to stand equally with boys group even beating them for the TOP AWARDS in Kpop. Something that NEVER happened prior.

Fun fact: the guy in the "Gee" music video is Minho from SHINee, Its common for companies to plug other artists or upcoming artists from the same label in others music videos, I'm not sure for Western artists but you can see it alot in kpop👍☺
