I wouldn't say it was a fail... the spectator does not know what they are about to see... he saved the effect by improvising. The only way to 'fail' is in making a mistake and getting flustered by it. The spectator does not know what they are going to see... if you make a mistake or mess up, use it to segway into something else... This wasn't a 'fail'
