I agree about the part where girls from all-girls schools are more well-spoken and carry themselves a certain way, and I remembered being sad when I was forced to go to a nearby neighbourhood school were everyone was very singlish-spoken even though I qualified for a girls school. As a result, I might've developed some sort of inferior complex because I didn't like my school background, and my family mocked me for my Singlish grammar (it wasn't even my fault). "every school is a good school" but every school you go to can have such a huge influence on your experiences and who you become. I think I would've been a very different person. maybe more empowered and articulate, maybe I would've flourished better academically, but perhaps I would've been less grounded.

On the hair for hope note, I think I had a very different girls school experience. My school actually encourages hair for hope, like they even got hairdressers to come to the school itself so it would be more convenient for people to participate in this cause. And my perspective on the “all girls school girls are bitchy” is that there are bitchy girls everywhere, you just have to learn how to make friends with the right crowd and associate yourself with the right people.
@kerghhh4 жыл бұрын
I was from a girls’ school but tbh I cannot relate to this video. And I am very glad to not be able to relate. My school was all about women empowerment and we couldn’t care less about boys. We were too busy pushing boundaries to be the best versions of ourselves.
@shucklesors3 жыл бұрын
this comment is really soooo intriguing because the part on boys was really such a small, small, small part of the video. this comment you made actually speaks far far less about women empowerment, its importance in general and self-improvement than something very glaring about you yourself lol

Agree abt the Hair for Hope thing - some ppl in my cohort wanted to participate in Hair for Hope. The school management stepped in and said that all Sec 4s weren't allowed to participate because we had O level Oral coming up (and presumably one couldn't go for oral bald). The Sec 3s were allowed to do it so ended up we only had 2 Sec 3 girls participating in it (both my friends). I mean, it was just how things are, I guess we're still in school, so there's certain things that the sch can control, one of it being a "uniform" appearance.

Actually it varies whether girls schools girls r ang moh type cuz im frm chij st nicks, and its a sap sch which uses both eng and chi as its first language. Most of the songs we learn in music are chinese-based and whenever someone gives a speech on stage to tge school, it will usually be in both eng n mandarin. Other than that, chij st nicholas girls school also focuses largely on the chinese culture, like we would have programs which immerse us in the chinese culture such as chinese calligraphy, stories on chinese kingdoms and so on.

I also faced the issue of girls who were my friend and suddenly one day they stopped being friends with me when I came back from my mc. this happened back when I was in secondary school several years ago. like almost every time I tried to talk to them they would whisper to each other and talk behind my back while I'm right infront of them, sometimes even laugh in my face or fake smile at me. I ended up making friends with guys instead as strangely guys seems to be more matured and understanding and I tried making friends with other girl group but also faced the same issue of talking bad about me and laugh in my face. but then when I was friend with this guy we always get laughed by others as majority kept thinking we're in relationship but then I took this guy as my younger brother, cause both of us always get bullied/irritated by the rest of the classmates where there's a gang always nothing better to do like to disturb us, be it mocked by appearance wise, like body figure or height. plus I'm older than majority especially this guy friend I'm hanging out with, which I used to be his elder brother's classmate for years. but then again we became friends because not only I knew his brother, but we had in common, which is we're extremely annoyed with majority being so childish/inmatured. like almost every girl in the class gets along with any guy they would laugh and said they're together. and also before all this happened, I had lose friends twice in two years as they advanced to other classes, then I ended up giving up on my education due to not only unable to cope with stress where kept getting laughed for being fat, but also due to health issue, where there's issue with my forehead probably due to accident where my classmate hit my forehead and pubic area with soccer ball, where after this incident I had frequent headache and unable to have proper sleep routine. and all the stress coming from classmates who kept laughing at me for being fat, I couldn't cope cause ive intolerance to stress, which I only found out after years later, which was in the recent year, my doctor told me there's issue with my forehead which leads to unable to cope stress. and after reaching adulthood, I find myself funny as why did I get so emotionally and mentally affected by bullies who laughed at me for being fat, when I'm just tiny little bit overweight. and the funny and ridiculous part was one of the bullies which was in a group of more than five, one of them was even more overweight than me, yet laughed at me. I often laughed at myself for taking it so hard on their immaturity and ruin my education and health. just a. tips to whoever reads my entire comment, just don't take anyone words seriously, majority when after that said all this hurtful words, they would just give excuses of they're joking as they themselves don't remember saying all this, some would even deny.
@rach11195 жыл бұрын
