Fun fact: Parola Tank Museum in Finland was in dire need of funds for an outdoor shelter for some of the tanks, including the worlds only BT-42. Many of the donations they got were from Japan, and they were a bit confused. After a bit of research they found out that it was because of Girls und Panzer: Der Film as the BT-42 was featured in glorious fashion. And that's how a Japanese animated film about cute anime girls battling with tanks helped preserve some Finnish history.

My head cannon for the GuP universe is that the Finnish tanking school only has one tank and team at any given time. Fun fact: Säkkijärven Polkka was used in one of the first or perhaps the first instance of electronic warfare in world's history. When Finns took back Viipuri the Russians left mines behind that could be detonated by playing three tones over the radio waves. The Finns countered this by playing Säkkijärven Polkka on the radio on continuous loop for several hours and prevented the Russians from detonating their mines and stopped only when the mines were all finally defused. ~ZeOverman A couple of additional details: This song was picked for interference because its constantly shifting notes within the range of the detonation signals made for good interference. Second, I am uncertain if they did manage to find all the mines within the time they kept playing the song, but based on studying undetonated mines Finns expected the batteries on the detonators to run out in approximately three months. So I guess they decided to keep it running an extra 50% just to be safe. ~Crowley9 Parolas tank museum in Finland was in dire need of funds for an outdoor shelter for some of the tanks, including the worlds only BT42. The first electronical warfare was invented by the french using the eiffeil tower in WW1 The germans wanted to send zeppelins to bomb paris , they were guided by radio , so the french used the eiffel tower to emit at full power blocking the waves coming from germanny making the zeppelin lost until it crashed , the germans then had the idea tonfollow the signal of the eiffeil tower but the frenches learned about it , the they did as usual and when the zeppelin came close enough they stopped emiting with the tower and at the same time started emitting somewhere in the campaign so the germans go lost and crashed again :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/bniqeGeKn8h3fLM

It's not only because if this movie. Finland and Germany had ties with Japan way before WW2, look it up Plus Finland, Germany and Japan were basically the anti-communist trinity, they were all extremely heroic in keeping communists away from taking over both Europe and Asia. also their allies like Petain's Vichy government, the Spanish Nationalist government, the Russian new white army (Russian Nationalist resistance against bolsheviks). But unfortunately the allies supported communists and collaborated with their atrocities against European people's, and thanks to the allies communists spread their cancer to China I'm myself Russian by blood, My own family members were Imperial Russia loyalists and white army veterans in the Russian civil war, and fought as volunteers in the Wehrmacht in WW2 in the Baltics. Lots of Russians who had to flee when Bolsheviks perpetrated the coup d'etat, went to live in Prussia and the Baltics and joined the Wehrmacht in volunteer divisions or supported Germany in liberating Russia from the red plague. There are numerous photos from the era showing Eastern European civilians and villagers welcoming German troops

@@humzaakhtar9208 small groups of isolated soldiers stopping a full division. Many examples of this. My favorite is the battle at Mill, may 10th 1940. Before the Dutch realized they were at war, a German armoured train and a troop train had passed through their lines. The troops in those trains outnumbered the defending batallion already. They unloaded and attacked from the rear. Meanwhile, two full divisions deployed in front of the Dutch lines. The Germans had armoured cars, hundreds of artillery pieces, and air support. The Dutch had twelve artillery pieces from 1870. After half a day, the Dutch commander ordered the retreat to the main defensive line since they were only there to delay. A few groups did not receive the order and in the end, two small groups with one machine gun each, held those two full divisions occupied for another half day. If you can make any sense of that, let the historians know.

Unfortunately (for everyone else in the world who tries to figure out what the heck is going on), the Finns are either too drunk to notice it, or were not at all ever informed such a line exists, (or politely choose to ignore it even is a thing) and thus play with both decks at any given time. How fast are does Tanks? I know it is possible for a fast Tank to drift on soft ground like earth, sand, etc, but these are Need for Speed levels of drifting.

around 20-40kph for ww2 tanks. and most ww2 tanks cannot drift on soft ground, as they were barely able to turn their chassis around even while moving
@amagimofumofu65494 жыл бұрын
@@EricWulfe some ww2 light tanks were able to reach 50 kph and turn very easily , their cons was just mud due to their tracks being mainly wheels and the huge risk of them just flipping over when turning quickly

@@amagimofumofu6549 that is true but this show just ups the speed of every tank like take the kv2 in the Pravda battle it should not be able to keep up but the show just makes every tank faster than it should be but other than that its quite accurate
@Johndoe-jd3 жыл бұрын
@@EricWulfe ironically the bt-42 (the Finnish tank in the video) has the highest possible top speed even compared against today’s tanks. It was believed that it could reach a top speed upwards of 100 mph (160 kmph). This was without tracks and on flat land.

This tank is the perfect example of Finnish people: we had nothing when the war started. We made do with what was available, and made it work. The war ended with a treaty along with some areas lost, but we were not made to be a part of Russia- and they suffered horrendous losses compared to us. There is a saying that one Finnish soldier equals ten Russian ones, let's just leave it at that. 😅
