Man, we are living in a great era of female Japanese rock bands and their anime adaptations. Bocchi the Rock, BanG Dream! My Go!!!!! and now GIRLS BAND CRY. I'm so excited to see more of these groups in the future. Please run them multiple seasons. 👏

@minhchinhhoang8669 Reviews seem to be mixed on account of the comparison to Bocchi, but I don't think it's a fair comparison. From what I see, GIRLS BAND CRY is focused on the music itself, what music means, how it makes people feel, the driving force of creation. Those elements of musicianship are often downplayed in other anime as more niche themes or removed outright for the sake of establishing an appealing narrative or characters, but they're put at the forefront of this one. That's precisely what I love about it. I hope more studios take up the mantle and begin to include _even more_ "behind-the-scenes" aspects of creation, not just for music, but for anime about all sorts of artistic endeavors. Instruments don't tune themselves. A great performance doesn't just crop up when the curtain gets pulled to reveal a stage. Songs aren't conceived and rehearsed to perfection somewhere "off-screen", unseen by the musician. It's all a process. And oftentimes, that creative process is a turbulent flight of ideas where the people have to actively keep their vessel flight-worthy. It's a train of thought that needs to be boarded at any impromptu moment, lest the conceptual framework of creation be lost in an instant, never to return. It's a constant reaffirmation of devotion, which if neglected, can easily sink into regret or run off course. We see both of those things happen with Momoka. Not wanting to give up her integrity, she departed Diamond Dust. The regret caused by doing so crushed her spirit. It put holes in her ship, and now it's taking on water. Nina is desperately trying to patch those holes to float her passion once again. It's truly a beautiful story.

@@trajectoryunown i ve never thought seriously like that, the reasons i watched it is the character development make me feel so real and the art style is very unique. To be honest, i have somehow figured it but not very clearly, i just feel it so real and somehow i can sympathy but i dont know the true reason. Thank to you, i ve known the reasons why i keep watching and waiting for it now

I'm not a huge fan of it or the movement. Nobody acts like this not even on stage. It just feels like the studio being like "LOOK HOW MUCH OUR CHARACTER MOVES! PLEASE BE IMPRESSED!" They gotta pace out stuff like that cause it just looks like the singer is flailing around on stage

@@MidgarMerc I mean, it's kinda make sense to me. By looking from the anime, the Singer didn't have experience singing on stage and she just ordinary highschool girl. So yeah, there's nothing weird with her movement since this is their first performance as a Band

Now go and watch their live performance, those movement is also part of the live performance that bring the emotion of the song.

古さと新しさが混ざったようなCG、新鮮で良いですね。大きい画面で見ると綺麗で、印象が変わります。生身の動きとキャラクターらしい表情が滑らかに合わさっていて、迫力のあるMVになっています。ボーカルの方の歌声も可愛く切なくカッコよくて良いですね。キャラクターとしてはドラムの子が、お嬢様でやんちゃっぽくて気になります🥰

I'm impressed with the level of detail here. The particular instrument models are spot-on and sound just like what you'd expect in a live setting with these instruments (live recording through the board). The movement of the players is also very natural and flowing.

I found this video by sheer chance back then. I heard the name of the anime already but THIS sold me on it. It was immediately clear how much passion in this entire project was based on just the amount of details presented in this one video. The characters portrayed such a level of energy and emotion I was not prepared for. If this is their very first music video, how far can the actual show go?.. And after 7 episodes, it only expanded my expectations! One of the rawest emotional shows I've seen in a very long time with some of the most relatable characters along side it! I hope the band gets to continue making music like this for the foreseeable future, they absolutely deserve the spotlight!

仁菜の熱量が尾崎豊のようで凄い。詞が心に刺さる。曲が凄く良い。演奏レベルが高く特にこの曲ではピアノが凄く良い。アニソンの域を超えており、Jロックとして見てもかなり素晴らしいバンドだと思います。どの曲も詞と曲に説得力があり、楽曲の圧倒的凄さがアニメにおいても説得力を後押ししていると思います。サマソニやフジロックやロッキン出演してもおかしくないレベルの高さ。 CD買いたいと思わせるバンドはそうそうなく、トゲナシトゲアリに関してはCD買いたいと心の底から思います。今後の飛躍に期待しています。
